What's up with on3 team rankings

LSU has 10 commitments and 7 of the 10 are 4 stars. Let's just use Louisville as a comparison. Louisville has 2 commitments both are 4 stars and they are 8th and LSU is 10th.
I think all the way up to 3 teams have 4 committed players and all in front of LSU

I will say i like who they have on board so far, but i hope they pick it up some.
Last year's class was pretty elite imo.
Can't wait to see players like khai prean at receiver. That receiver haul last year was sick.

They have gotten all the New subscribers from the LSU recruiting faithful that they think they’ll get. Therefore the higher ups have moved on from praising LSU and the Bengal Tiger staff of Matt B, Shea D, and Billy E still give great info but will still have to support the bosses and their recruiting gurus no matter how it affects LSU. I love reading On3 but it’s a business to make money and being different no matter how wrong their opinions seem it’s just that One person’s opinion, not the gospel. So that’s why I posted the Topic “My Prerogative” I’m with 247 now we’re #2 and until they get their sht together or the Bengal Tiger Staff grow some nads that’s who I’m listening to.

Using the average per player is a poor way to rank teams. I won't look at On3 again until after the first signing day.

Those things are a formula with a sliding scale and based on everyone having the same amount of commits. Right now the baseline number is 4 commits. So basically those rankings are horseshite until the base number gets to 20 minimum. All but the horseshite part is straight from Billy Embody.

LA is down and lsu isn’t even getting all of the ones they want. Folks need to be prepared for a “down” class. As long as they fill needs and crush the portal, it doesn’t really matter.

I'd love it if I were wrong but historically LSU’s class ranking has depended heavily on the number of elite prospects the state produces. New staff, so I guess it's fair to say things are different now. As I said, if they continue killing the portal, having a “down” recruiting class every once in a while is far from a program killer.

Fair enough assessment, I’d trust Kelly and the way he and crew have tapped in outside Louisiana. As you mentioned, it’s a new regime and thankfully they’re more cerebral and organized across the board than past staffs. But yes we shall see, be great to land Simmons specifically.
