Based on the numbers, LSU has 50 Scholarship players that are on this team that will be back for Spring ball as of now. LSU signed 25 today, that gets you to 75. Lets assume they sign Ricks tomorrow, that is 76. Add the 4 Portal guys already coming in, that gets LSU back to 80 which we haven't been at since 2019. So LSU could take up to 5 more Portal guys and be at the hard cap number of 85.

Denver Harris is the other one. We'll probably remain active in the portal through the spring.

We'll probably add Denver Harris to that group.

And then it'll be time to refocus on the February high school crop. So far I see two players we'll be looking at - Jamel Howard and Nyckolas Harbor.

But I can see us looking around to maybe add a couple of unsung Louisiana players on top of that.

And perhaps a transfer or two if there are people who fit at certain positions like center, middle linebacker or maybe a safety. Or if a marquee running back turns up, which I'm going to say is unlikely.

I think they will have more late transfers than late high school guys

It will be more than 5 by the time the season starts. LSU will have more attrition by then. More will hit the transfer portal once the writing is on the wall after spring and then discipline issues possibly or unexpected losses. LSU can sign more HS players too february.

In short: don't know the final numbers until attrition inevitably happens.
