Honestly, I can’t blame them. And this honestly doesn’t feel vindictive or virtue signaling at this point either. Sponsoring a LIV player from an ROI standpoint seems very dumb. It’s like those guys have disappeared.

It’s so strange how quickly they have completely fallen out of the public sphere

I doubt either really cares much about it with the $ they have from the switch.

I mean they took a contract with liv paying basically 30-50 million a year right?

What would you say they made from Adidas a year? I would think they main guys were close to that, so losing them seems like a big deal and a net neutral deal

At some point the answer for everything bad that happens to a liv player can’t be “who cares, money “.

I’m sure they care a lot

Yeah the LIV stuff started off with a bang with some of the names they got and the tournaments they held…but it seems to have fizzled pretty hard this off-season. And they added some snoozer names like Brendan steel Le and Mito perreira which tells me they aren’t really ramping up the energy anymore. I can’t see it going more than a couple years unless something dramatic changes

To Adidas maybe, they weren’t getting anywhere near 30-50 million a year for shoes and clothing, this isn’t a Nike/Tiger deal we are talking about here…… plus they both married a lot of money and I’m sure they aren’t sitting around looking in the mailbox for their Adidas check every month

So if they don’t care about money why go to LIV?

I’m sorry, I vehemently disagree these guys aren’t pissed at the lack of support and care at all about LIV and the loss of sponsorships as well

Sergio and DJ thank you for your concern about their financial well being but I’m sure neither really give a damn, their phones are ringing off of the hook already.

According to a 2016 article when DJ resigned with Adidas, the value was estimated at $10M p/y.

LINK

DJ is working on his 4 Aces brand. Will that do well in the U.S. - prolly not all that great, but may do pretty well across the globe. Enough to make-up the $10M -

Why do you seem legit defensive? I don’t think the LIV guys saw this lack of support and abandonment coming.

Sorry but that’s the truth

Are they suicidal about it? No, but they aren’t happy or unaffected as you want to make it seem. (Well maybe Bruce is suicidal)

It's fun getting you and some others all worked up over LIV.

Did you watch the Netflix Full Swing documentary. DJ clearly doesn't give two shits about what people think of his decision or if someone doesn't like LIV in general. He's happy with his decision. Paulina didn't care either. It was a decision that was best for their family. Can't really blame him for wanting to do what's best for his family.

When these guys turned on the WM and Gen the last two weeks, their blood boiled.

Ask any former rock star or athlete. The money is awesome, but the crowds and spotlight are the real drug

Agree, I’ve pretty much forgotten any golfer that’s joined LIV tbh. I think most the world feels the same way. It seems like a bad investment to sponsor them. People just coming into the golf fandom now wouldn’t even know Sergio, DJ, Cam Smith, etc. I had forgot Sergio was gone until you posted this.

I think the only two guys you miss are DJ and Cam Smith, maybe Koepka. But they all knew joking LIV they’d lose endorsements which is why their buyout to go to LIV was so high. Probably all comes out in the wash losing the $10m from adidas considering they were never going to make more than $15-20m on tour in a single season.

I knew golfers who joined LIV would be completely irrelevant in the golf sphere, but I’m surprised at how fast it happened. Maybe because the PGA tour has been amazing to start the season but I’m still blown away how much LIV golfers are an afterthought.

LIV is now like the USFL to the NFL. It shot its shot and missed miserably

If that makes you feel better over 2 rich dudes losing an Adidas sponsorship when they have tons of other sponsors

Is that what DJ and Sergio told you? Well that solves it then

Said this when LIV started, there was no benefit for the equipment companies with the limited audience of LIV.

Doesn't matter if DJ or Sergio are upset with this development, it's just business and the return on investment for the company.

DJ & Sergio are set for life and their kids lives if they are smart with their money and don't get Madoff.

Club, Bag and Headwear visibility is paramount for the companies.

Just look at what a great catch for Callaway in signing Rahm last year.

He is a one man marketing machine for the new Paradym Driver.

DJ has said publicly that he doesn't want to play much longer. He is not going to play into his late 40's. It was 100% about the money, and he has said as much. I respect him for that. HV3 has said the same.
