Waco - the FBI should be razed to the ground

Maybe so but the way they portray Koresh in that show is disturbing.

Koresh was a wack job, no doubt, but those people posed no threat and the "greatest nation on earth" waged war on them for no fricking reason

So it's time for us, the citizens of this great country, to wage war on them

That is the reason I have never watched that movie again.

No way that many should have died but maybe the deaths of those children are on their brainwashed parents hands. A lawful authority with a legal warrant begged them for almost two months to leave the compound. Leave and answer to authorities like they saw other Davidians do, or stay and risk you and your childrens lives for Koresh. They chose poorly.

Their own county sheriff asked the ATF to investigate federal gun violations after a UPS driver reported delivering large shipments of gun parts, ammo, grenades and chemicals to the compound. Several Branch Davidians told authorities before the raid (and others testified to this after) that Koresh considered himself the Lamb of God and that those weapons were for an apocalyptic battle. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that this was going on in my community.

Same county sheriff felt that if he tried to arrest Koresh in that compound, he would have not walked out alive. He said "One day there had to be a confrontation with them, they were building for this". Yeah, obviously.

I also have a hard time to believing that the first shots fired were federal agents firing on dogs like the show depicts. Reporters were there and eye witnesses said the first shots came from inside the compound. What do think would happen if you fired at the Feds from a freakin window? Spoiler: You'd die.

But sure, they didn't do nothin' to nobody.

I just finished this tonight also. I was too young in ‘93 to remember details of this other than the Branch Davidians was that cult in Waco where they killed themselves. I didnt know the whole story and I’ve been doing a bit of reading on it too. Don’t get me wrong, the Branch Davidians were a crazy cult and they did have a shite ton of weapons that definitely makes you raise your eyebrows but the way the ATF and FBI handled the whole ordeal is a master class on how not to handle situations like this. I’m not giving the cult a pass but law enforcement has to do better than what they did there.
