Like a boss. I know she used to do anthing (and anyone) to get a story when she was an investigative reporter but she fricking owned Greenpeace here.
Foster too:

With television cameras rolling, the activists went to the Governor's Mansion with what they called a toxic lunch: fish from a bayou near a plastics plant where signs warn against eating the catch. The governor wasn't home.
But his press secretary, Marsanne Golsby, accepted the lunch, whipped a plastic fork out of her pocket and ate the fish.
Several of the activists warned her to stop. They told her where the fish came from.
quote:
“Why did you bring it if you didn't want me to eat it?" Golsby asked.

Foster too:

“I wish they'd go out and save some whales," Foster said. They're pretty good at that.

Only thing I remember about Gov. Foster was him getting rid of the motorcycle helmet law.

Do you remember Jack Kent from Marine Shale Products or maybe Gulf Marine Shale. He was running an incinerator for hazardous waste, much of which was spent abrasive blast grit. He wanted to use the klinker/slag from his process as road bed material. His buzzword for these lumps of shite with God knows what in them was, "It's a harmless aggregate."
To "prove" his point, he at least once ate a lump of his harmless aggregate in front of TV cameras. I seem to remember him being buddies with Foster.

There was a guy on one of the other LSU sites who was a lobbyist for the Louisiana Chemical Association. He was a piece of work. To hear him tell it there was no such thing as pollution and anyone who thought otherwise was a commie dupe.

yeah i remember this very clearly as well.
lots of intrigue going on with the DEQ and the LCA back in the late 80s & early 90s. its part of the cronism that occurred as roemer was leaving office and edwards was getting set to go back in.
manny ferandez anyone?

eta i was a lowly intern at the DEQ in the late 80s while at LSU and i even got involved because the LCA wanted the address list of people who the DEQ Newsletter was sent out to.
seems our little department got a little 'uppity' and instead of fluff pieces we decided to publish the list of violations and did some actual reporting that didn't fit with the propaganda they wanted us to publish so they wanted their hands on that list to send out 'corrections' to.

they put the squeeze on dorothy harrington (manny's wife) who was in charge of that department at the time.
i ended up with the floppy disks with the addresses at one point and the LCA was putting out some pretty ugly threats to get it back so i pussied out and dropped them off in a random drawer in the office so they wouldn't come after me. only a couple people knew i had the disks but they could have easily rolled on me and as a naive college student i didn't want those people after me.

I remember that too. They moved to Colorado after that all went down.

Same here

I can’t name any other thing he did.

I'm pretty sure Jack Kent went belly up and left a ginormous slag heap for his creditors/the state to clean up.
Rockford: Jack Kent tried to pretend he was some type of modern day alchemist and all of the lead and heavy metals that went into his kiln somehow didn't come out the other end. In reality, the heavy metals were "stabilized" and could beat the TCLP test, at least in the short term. His aggregate was nonleachable, per the test, but it was still full of heavy metals.

The bottom line is that the guy was running an unpermitted hazardous waste disposal operationn and passing it off as a recycling plant. I doubt he ever sold a wheelbarrow full of his aggregate to a legitimate business.
