Two people have been arrested in the shooting that wounded nine children at a Columbus, Georgia, gas station earlier this month, police announced Friday.

The suspects were identified as 35-year-old D'Angelo Robinson, Sr., and an unnamed 15-year-old male, who were both taken into custody on aggravated assault charges, according to a release from the Columbus Police Department.

quote:

The February 17 shooting broke out when a group of minors at a party got into an altercation and went over to a nearby Shell gas station's parking lot, where nine children all under the age of 18 were wounded -- including a 5-year-old boy who was struck while there with a family member, Columbus police previously said.

quote:

Robinson was charged with eight counts of aggravated assault, while the teenage suspect -- who was described "a validated gang member" -- was charged with one count of aggravated assault, the department said, adding that additional charges are pending.

The oldest minor shot was 17 and the 15 year old shooter was a known gang member. I wonder what the ages of these other "children" were (aside from the 5 year old who was with family.) I think if you are 14 or older, packing a gun and engaging in criminal behavior, you are not a child.

I looked at four different articles, no picture of the shooter. I had to Google image search his name to find an article with the picture.

Maybe a lawyer can answer this better, but if you shoot someone, how is that not attempted murder?

And in my opinion, attempted murder should carry the same penalty as murder. You shouldn’t get a discount for being a bad shot.

In that neighborhood the shooter might be considered a sanitation worker.

GA doesn’t have attempted murder, it’s a part of agg assault. Max is 20. If he gets a gang charge it runs consecutive after he serves the agg charge and I think you have to all of your sentence with no option for parole.
