Refrigerator not cooling but freezer is

Made a big run to Costco a few days ago and fridge decided to stop cooling after power went out a few nights ago.
Tried cleaning coils, hard resetting it, no luck. Anybody have any tips or tricks?
Should I pay someone probably $200 to fix it or just bite the bullet and get another one?

Unplug it for 24 hrs or so and fully defrost your freezer. Throw everything into coolers.

It's the fan that blows the air from the freezer to the fridge side. Mine was a circuit board failure and was like $300. This was 06 maybe?

Check the fan that blows the cold air from the freezer compartment into the fridge compartment. Might have seized or frozen over during the thaw

Not sure what model you have but some have different cooling units for fridge and freezer. Mine did that and it was the evaporator fan was out and the coils were frozen over. Unplugged it for three days and let it defrost while the new fan was being delivered.

Good reply cotton and I’ve had that work and not work. The benefit of not being a professional and owning second hand appliances as a poor.
Evaporator fan possible.
When I do buy new, it’s always the simplest and cheapest fixer model.

Sounds like your fridge is busted but not your freezer.

Drill a small hole from your freezer into the fridge.
Enough freezing air will be forced into the fridge as the warmer air rises.

I've had that happen in a couple of fridges and it was the defrost heater element both times.

Should take about 1/4 inch to do the trick.

Based on your description of what happened. Remove freezer items you likely have stuffed to block the cold air from leaving freezer area to the fridge section.

Had a Samsung do this and I had it fixed.
The area where the cold air comes in was freezing up.

Compressor. Your freezer will follow soon. Get a new fridge.

Both our freezer and fridge quit cooling, not even 5 years old; I was told it was likely a freeon leak and to get a new fridge. Still using garage fridge in meantime that is 20+ years old
