Anyone else watching? Been some good matches with a few great rematches to follow at 65, 74 and Heavyweight.
Tight team race between Penn State and Ohio State as well.

Didn’t a bunch of schools have to ditch their wrestling programs to fund all that Title IX bullshite?
If so, how come Penn St and OSU still have teams?

Still popular in the Midwest and North. Arkansas Little Rock just added a D1 program today apparently.

Don’t blame Title IX blame idiot judges in California that set the precedent Title IX was never meant for sports but idiot judges took it there and set the precedent

Is that cheater with one leg still wrestling?

True FR Spencer Lee won the 125 pound National Title in what is I'm sure to be the first of 4 straight individual Titles for Lee as he leads Iowa back to their rightful place atop the world of NCAA Wrestling, prying it back from the dirty cheating hands of Penn State and that POS Cael Sanderson

Title IX also funds sports according to the school's
male/female ratio.Obviously both schools have a higher
% of males enrolled compared to females.Which isn't the case with most SEC schools.

Maybe. But there's only how many with four titles? 4. In the history. So, I would say that even with a win as a freshman, the chances are remote. Especially when he goes up in weight a class or two over the next few years. Dude is a stud though. Lost his last match as a senior in the HS final which was his first loss ever in HS. The other guy is at Drexel now. With that said, I would remove the word "sure" from your statement.

Oklahoma State says this every year also. PSU and Ohio State seem to have a hammer lock on recruiting and development right now.
Of course, if Iowa wants to be on top, they can't have #2 seeds losing in the 2nd round either. I mean, I know the thought of losing to Retherford yet again is in your head, but at least get to the finals first.

?? Not sure where this comes from. When you participate in an individual sport like wrestling, the only way to get better is to day in and day out train and compete against the best. PSU has a loaded roster. Championships are won in that wrestling room on Tuesday afternoons, not in duals or tournaments. It's not like football where a top recruit looks at depth charts and when can he play. If I'm a top recruit, I want to compete against 5 NCAA champions EVERY day and getting better rather than worrying about if I can start as a freshman.

PSU gave him a nice contract with much more resources to snatch him from ISU. Happens all the time.
I live in PA but am no means a PSU fan. I don't really have a dog in the fight and usually pull for the guys from the smaller schools knowing they are doing it with less resources. Wyoming, Edinboro, ASU, Lock Haven... Love seeing when they have guys in the semis and finals.

For Title IX compliance, certainly wrestling is one of the easiest sports to chop. There is (for now) no female counterpart so you have to make up scholarships then for wrestling as well as football. But, each school makes their own decision on compliance. Big Ten schools cut other programs or even add to women's. Wrestling is very popular in the Big 10. It used to be a very popular sport in the Big 12 as well. That's starting to dwindle.

ACC is starting to gain some momentum.
I agree Lee will be a 4xer, he is a beast.

For sure. Tech, State, UNC, UVA among others are sucking up top HS kids from PA, NJ, and MD right now. Our youth program in PA has coaches who wrestled at UVA, UNC, and MD. They were PA state champs and place winners in HS and recruited by some of the big programs in the North.
