That early UVA game looked like a scrimmage. Even in the bad weather.

Notee Dame making early easy work of Utah as well. Apparently Utah still has a ways to go with program talent.

I did a double take when I saw Utah v ND. Utah had good players back in the day but they were never on par with California/AZ/CO talent wise.

I just looked up their roster they won’t hang until they recruit the East better.

It's a hard sell to get kids to head so far west, in bulk. They're going to need to snag the top West Coast talent & develop like crazy.

This didn't go as we all thought it would on paper. Wow. Hopkins made a statement.

Welp, Michigan took their historic opportunity to heart. 1st Big 10 title, 1st national tourney appearance & 1st national tourney win. Huge for the growth of the sport. Shame Utah couldn't get it done as well.

Now time for Duke to show the world how it's done.

That 1st half definitely had a weird feel to it.

I'm so glad Duke fought to hold off Delaware. Came down to 1 play & fundamentals. Every youth, HS, & college coach lacrosse coach in the country worth his salt is cutting that clip to show their players all off-season long. You simply cannot take a day/rep off in this sport when it comes to fundamentals.

Same thing can be said about Maryland in the final minute, down 2 goals against Army, ran a perfect offensive set to punch in a goal in 10 seconds.

Having said that, the Army goalie was MVP of that game.

Top level goalie play in the NCAA & the PLL are so enjoyable to watch. Knowing those 90-110+ MPH shots are coming & those dudes are stopping them is just mind bottling (bottles the mind).

Denver has had a good run, down this year. I think the coach is retiring. It can be done. Most of the championship teams had east coast players. My local HS in CO has a kid going to New Hampshire (I think) and also DU. Western talent is on the rise.

My kid plays on an 8th grade team and last summer was pretty even with the east coast teams. Small sample but we’re told it was no contest 10 years ago. They went 2-2 in a tourney in PA all close games.

DU is an exception because their coach was a living legend in the sport. Back when I was in college they were good but not good enough to win titles.

In regards to your sons team i wouldn’t put too much weight into that. The tournament might not be prestigious enough to draw elite talent from the East. For example I played for team Idaho for years in HS and we played a Maryland team in Seattle down to the wire and then lost to the Baltimore Crabs by about 30 goals in Vail

That Crabs team had 20 something D1 players and the bitch of the team was a D3 commit.
