As I understand it…LSU has..(I’m doing this from memory)
Hilliard
Coleman
Edwards???
Helmers???
As far as starters go, who else do they have?

Is Labas for sure gone? He wasnt drafted.
Also we have a handful of freshman arms from this year who could start next year, as well as Lansville coming in, plus the transfer Reyzelman from San Francisco. Jay Johnson also said Devin Fontenot will get a shot to start.

We just picked up Shaffer(SELA Friday starter) who throws 92-94. We picked up Eric Rayzelman in the portal who throws mid 90s and touches 97. He also is killing it in the Cape Cod league so far. We have Lansville coming in who throws mid 90s with true weekend starter capability. We have Grant Fontenot and Grant Taylor who both throw low to mid 90s, both ranked Top 160 prospects this year. Plus we are rumored to be after 1-2 more in the portal.

Labas told Johnson he would sign an MLB contract if he were drafted. I guess we’ll see....

We’ve got plenty of arms already here and plenty coming in.
I’ll trust Kelly and Johnson to develop and determine who’ll start.

Floyd has the potential to develop into a dominant Friday night guy. Some didn't think we'd even get him on campus.

Fontenot mentioned he was coming back to be a starter, dont know how it will work out but that seems to be what he was sold on to come back

Rayzelman looks pretty damn good.

Coleman, if you watched that Oregon game you know why. lefty, good assortment of pitches and can hit his spots
Lansville - true frosh coming in, big powerful Friday night looking type guy
Hilliard could be a very solid sunday starter
We got more than you realize baw

Shaffer, Reyzelman, and Lansville are 3 new guys that I think have a legit chance at becoming a weekend starter. They have the stuff, just need to get a handle on their control, which is Kelly's whole specialty/schtick.
Lansville less likely than the other two because he's a freshman, but PerfectGame said his curve ball might be the best breaking pitch in the class.
ETA:
This isn't even mentioning Coleman, Fontenot (old), Fontenot (new), Labas (maybe), Hellmers, etc.
We have some arms, just need to add 1 more I think if we can.

He's definitely a Friday night guy if he has his control under wraps, absolutely tearing up the Cape Cod league to start out this summer.

If you listen and watch Lansville, you'll realize quickly at the young age of 18 hes already a stout arse BAW

I agree, had 3 great freshman arms last year, they just need to be developed to be more consistent. Floyd, Coleman and Edwards all have big time potential and were outstanding several times last year. Problem is there were other times they weren't very effective. I trust the new coaching staff to develop these guys so they gain the consistency needed to be good pitchers

He was one of if not the highest rated pitchers to go to college and he definitely projects as a Friday starter.
I think to stay least start the year Fontenot will be in the rotation. Probably how Johnson was able to get him to return.
Probably be (in no particular order) Fontenot, Hilliard, One of the transfers to start the year. Coleman, Hellmers, and Floyd will start midweek games. The starting rotation will be very fluid up until SEC play.

He’s loading up on velo guys that LSU was sorely missing last year.
He’s also telling Hilliard & Fontenot what they want to hear, in terms of getting chances to start on the weekend.
With these new additions and other guys returning, the floor of this pitching staff is improving greatly from where PM had it. No more Aaron George’s & Vietmeir’s coming in throwing straight 88’s. The overall “stuff” has been greatly improved in about 10 days.

This summer, Reyzelman, Gervase, and Shaffer have thrown 30.1ip & struck out 51 hitters.

I expect Gervase to mainly be a bullpen guy. Reyzelman and Shaffer could be starters. Gause and Bollman are 2 other Juco guys that have starter potential. And, we may be after 1 more arm.

It’s actually his slider, which is a plus pitch and the pitch he’s most comfortable throwing. He has just recently added the curveball to his arsenal.

I think Edwards has great potential as well. Maybe not an ace, but a possible weekend starter.
