Paul knows!

Remember Paul commenting in Hoover about how the end of the regular season and Hoover can't do anything but set this team up? The last 2 MSU games both had a ton on the line and the boys came through. Same thing in Hoover...they answered. Being thoroughly embarrassed by the country's #1 team on national TV only scared us fans - not the boys! Taking the next 2 from that same team wasn't supposed to happen. It frikkin' DID! David beat Goliath. NOW, return the favor to the Gators!

Goliath beat Goliath bro... we are kings of College baseball and never forget that

Not really a David vs Goliath
It looks mainly like one team who played a weaker schedule got exposed by a superior team who has been battle tested over the course of this season.

If you don't think the rest of the nation saw us as David going into Friday you're really outta touch

Guess my joke didn't land. I'll try to improve.

Clue - LSU was underdog in every OSU game

ETA: misread your post

Yeah we were underdogs but it's not like we were some Cinderella. We won the SEC regular season and tournament and were consensus preseason top 3-5

Agreed Bayou, and good observation which only serves to demonstrate the determination and fight of this team. It's impressive.

Yeah please don't take my post as discounting this team's accomplishments. Beating that team 2 days in a row is amazing

Underdog =/= David
No need to exaggerate.

We have 1 NC in the last 17 years. You realize that right? That doesn't exactly sound like a king, much less the king.

But the midweek games!

How can a legit number 4 national seed ever EVER be considered a "David" in any cws game?
LSU baseball and the cws brings out the most looney fans

The 13-1 score was a little misleading. LSU got their arse whipped no doubt but some of their runs came from guys that is not LSU's top arms. Having to pitch Peterson,Beck, and Bain really padded some stats.

We were slight underdogs in each game, not heavy dogs. We were not david. We have more veteran leadership than most teams that came here. My numbers actually show lsu as a slightly better team than osu.

Yeah. David vs Goliath us a bit of an exaggeration.
It was more like a slightly underrated LSU team vs a slightly overrated OSU team.
Both teams are very good. LSU was slightly underrated because of our approach to mid-week games. But our RPI should've given people enough pause to think we were slightly better than our record showed, which we proved in the SEC tournament.
OSU was also a very good team but was slightly overrated due to their fantastic record. But, they played a weaker schedule, shown by their much lower RPI.
Us beating them 2 in a row is as much an anomaly or surprising as some have made it out to be. That said, it's still incredible!
