Let's take a look at House's defenses since last year after the Auburn game:

In that time against P5 opponents, LSU has given up less than 30 points only 4 times in 16 games. Note this is not counting the joke of a bowl game with half of Purdue's offensive players sitting out.

Those 4 games came against Ole Miss, Arky (ice game with 3rd string QB), MSU (fired their coach) and Auburn (joke of an offense all season).

Understand that in 12 of the last 16 legit P5 games, his defense has given up 30+ points.

This guy was not good last year either, but some want to use last season, which is propped up by 2 or 3 games early and an ice bowl, to say he was good.

Just some perspective.

3rd down defense at LSU for House:
2023 - 0.453 (116th in the country)
2022 - 0.400 (76th in the country)

He's been awful. Downright awful for 2 years now.

If Kelly keeps him I’m off the BK train completely. I don’t want House to even have relatives in Louisiana. Dude single-handedly fricked around and let a championship caliber offense and Heisman caliber QB go to waste.

We were a top 30 defense in the country last year.

22nd in points allowed
34th in total defense
26th in defensive SP+
15th in defensive FPI

That’s far from awful. With a pieced together defense. I’m not excusing his performance this year - it’s downright terrible. But he absolutely was good (not great, good) last year

LSU wasn't running House's system last year. They are this year. That is the point.

He was running a hybrid of the previous scheme with his tweaks. This year it is entirely his. That happens almost everywhere unless your Coach O and decide you want to force your DC (Pelini) to run a 4-3 with 3-4 players.

It’s ok to admit he did a good job last year and also say he completely shite the bed this year and we need fresh blood. Both things are true.

bullshite, hes horrible. Last year he was horrible also. He had a good game plan to beat Bama. After that he stopped no one with a pulse. Hes bad
If you think a team rated 34th in total defense is good your delusional! Especially for an LSU defense! Total defense and scoring defense are wjat you want to look at and be good at if your gonna win a championship. You need to be top 10 for the most part

You are doing a lot of cherry-picking to prove your point, but House wasn't awful last year. He was awful this year and I hope he gets replaced. But our defense last year was pretty decent. The problem is he regressed significantly.

These are the fatal stats if you ask me. I would also like to know redzone TD percentage.

People can talk about last year and reason for why this year was as bad as it was, but what really tells the tale vis a vis a coordinator's scheme is 3rd down and redzone.

Even conceding LSU fielded a "good" defense last year, 3rd down and redzone have become trends of "bad" defense.

Also, ignoring all the terrible grammar, our 2019 defense was ranked 32nd in scoring defense and 34th in total defense.

That coordinator was horrible, right? Those are the stats that tell you a defense is good, right?

2019 final stats:
32nd in scoring defense
33rd in total defense
20th in defensive SP+
11th in defensive FPI

That was a championship defense. It’s literally exactly what house had last year. I’m not defending house or saying we should keep him. We just love cherry picking and ignoring the fact that he was good last year.

How about stop rate/3rd down/redzone?

2019 LSU had a stop rate of ~15; 2022 LSU had a stop rate of ~50. Huge difference in quality.

The third and long conversions in this last game were positively mind boggling.

Too bad BK has a 10 year contract. If it was 5 years and he craters next season, we could fire his arse. NOTHING can be done for at least another 5 Years +

See you! This is going to be a great purge of the LSU fan base. Only, y'all are full of shite, just like barbara Streisand and the other airheads who always say they are leaving if a Republican wins, but they never friggin do.

I never said I’d stop being an LSU fan dumbass. I said I’d be off the BK train. Which means no more defending him in any way shape or form.
