He said he never liked Kelly

I said, I hear that sometimes but what specifically is it about him you don't like?

he said, "he's not a players coach, throws players under the buss while at ND

So far, I haven't see this perception while at LSU... Kelly seems very supportive of his players, and I think he's straight with them..

Either Kelly has changed a bit or people just hated him because he was with the Irish?

Talked to my neighbor the other day, HUGE Northern Arizona Lumberjack guy

Anyway, he didn't have an opinion either way about BK

Kelly can be a horse's arse. There have been plenty of times in the past where it looks like his head is going to explode because he's so made on the sidelines.

However, in 1.5 years at LSU we haven't really seen that guy too often. Maybe it's because he's matured/mellowed with age. Maybe it's because he hasn't yet had to face the full force of huge expectations that come with this job, so he's not dealing with that stress just yet. But I could see how many who observed him pre-LSU didn't like him. Hell, MANY LSU fans felt the exact same way before he became the HC.

I get so sick of hearing the "throws players under the bus" lame bullshite. Sometimes the truth hurts. But the truth is the truth. As long as a coach tells the truth, he can say whatever he wants.

Did he bring up "taking over" Tiger Stadium last year? It seems like every Tennessee fan who's ever lived was there and it's their greatest life achievement

I dont understand this comment about anyone.

It was on national television, everyone can see that players are screwing up. Now, why they are screwing up can be debated, but there is ALWAYS a player component, unless we are talking time management or game management decisions. But if you cant run it, someone isnt blocking, or someone cant block their assignment, or someone cant read the defense.

Same always.

Saying that players are not doing what they are supposed to do is not throwing anyone under the bus. And I have never heard any coach not say something along the lines of "I/we have to do a better job of geting them ready" in association with player comments.

This board use to talk shite about Kelly and say a lot of the same stuff other fans have said/saying now. LSU fans just had to accept the fact he is the coach and act like he is the best person for the job.

I spoke to a diehard Nashville Predators fan this morning. He said Brian Kelly should install a penalty box at Tiger Stadium.

Kelly's early notre dame tenure was filled with red faced rage attacks on the sideline, mix that with the fact he coached at notre dame, a school people love to hate and see lose. Kinda similar to how saban would have a shite fit on the sidelines of alabama any time anything didn't go his way

Kelly has mellowed out a whole hell of a lot, even while still at notre dame, but I can admit I thought he was a total jackass during his early notre dame years

Pretty soon, we'll blame BK for the lack of upgrades @ The Box

I think most people just don’t like Notre Dame and therefore didn’t like Notre Dame’s longtime coach. I was one of them until he came here. I think many people just made up their mind on him a long time ago well before he came to LSU.

After watching him over his 2 seasons at LSU, my opinion of him has definitely changed for the better.

I spoke with my aunt's uncle's neighbor's nephew who was given Double Secret Probation info by a 4 Year All-American from Louisiana Community Christian that Brian Kelly is going to be their next head coach in 2024.
LSU will then name Guido Merkens as their next head coach.

I couldn't stand him at ND. He was an ahole. I think he has calmed down a lot.
