Do you foresee Tiger Stadium downsizing?

I think everyone universally agrees that in today's day and age, a 100k+ stadium is unnecessary. Downsizing to lessen traffic, create more comfort, increase amenities, etc.. would make for a better overall game day experience. It would also mean lost revenue due to a decline in ticket and concession sales.
So do you see Tiger Stadium ever downsizing? Would you pay more for your ticket if it meant a greater overall game day experience?

Maybe. Who knows. Weird that it wasn’t even 25 years ago when LSU, Tennessee and several other schools decided to go on an expansion frenzy.

No
Possibly new "experiences" around the stadium similar to what Happy Valley just did with the club/suite level near the players entrance...but nothing to do with the overall landscape

The traffic will never be fixed. I don’t really understand the downsizing argument. If you’re going to have 80k in the stadium what difference does it make?

Nope. There are many other things LSU can do to enhance gameday experience besides decreasing the number of seats.
No, I wouldn't pay more. Heck I don't love paying $170 for an endzone ticket to a game against a mediocre Florida team.

Kind of coincided with the mafia-ization of the booster groups

They JUST expanded it. They're not downsizing anytime soon, and probably never.

What exactly are you asking for? Ban DJs/ban LEDs/$2 hotdogs/pristine restrooms/chairbacks in every seat/have the band play music for 3.5 hours?

I don’t see it happening. Traffic is still a shite show for smaller games with maybe 80k fans so I doubt it would help with traffic unless you moved the location of the actual stadium.
It’s a nice thought to increase amenities but they can’t even get a damn basketball game right with less than 10k people. Dropping capacity back would just drive up the price of tickets with no real tangible benefit IMO

I see a possibility of them rearranging the seating to have wider spacing and bigger seats lowering the overall total capacity to kind of match the actual attendance in more games. I also see that including additional suites/special seating arrangements in lieu of more traditional seating at a premium price, of course.
But who knows.

Bill Nye says we should carpool to Tiger Stadium. Should be a special lot if you bring four or more to the game.

I wish they would consider it. Place is only truly at capacity once every other season, maybeee once a season depending on how well the tigers are doing. That's just where college football is these days

A week ago, LSU was charging $80-$90 for nosebleed tickets for Auburn, when those should probably run for $30-$40. LSU would rather sell less tickets at double the price than sell more tickets at a cheaper price. Less work for them, and they will bring in the same money.
If anything, LSU probably goes the route of what Alabama does by having something similar to those insane Founds Suites.

They just need to build a new stadium somewhere out on River Rd

I hope so, I really wish they would spend some real money and make the stadium a better experience. they need to remove all the bleacher seating and put real seat backs in you'd lose several thousand seats and probably get to like 95-97K, then they might as well just blow up the concourses and start over from scratch. lastly fix the sound system, you can barely hear what they're saying if you're sitting low in the south side of the stadium.

With more conference games on the horizon no shot they downsize or really change much until the money people see how the NEW SEC pans out for attendance.
Downsizing will not help with traffic. When the stadium was 80k traffic still sucked and it will always suck due to the stadiums' location.

I think if you move all seating to an individual stadium seat, it upgrades the stadium, and thins the herd making it look fuller. If every seat is gold, it'll at least look like there's something there.

Would think this should be the next move for the stadium, but that might hurt for ticket prices

No chance. Money is all that matters

If LSU downsizes it will not be because of the reasons you mentioned. Tennessee downsized a while ago and put a big screen there. I could see LSU doing something similar if they cannot see the benefit in having the stadium size at 102k anymore. Right now they are not hurting financially so I don't see that happening anytime soon. But damn does it depress me sitting in that stadium at 3/4 or 4/5 capacity. Its not just an LSU problem though its a College Football problem.

Next year, when we’re #1 after stomping USC week 1, the stadium will be FULL multiple times when we play UCLA, Bama, & Oklahoma in Tiger Stadium.
This will only increase with SEC expansion, home & home series, & potential CFP home games.
