My top 5 would be

1. Todd Walker
2. Dylan Crews
3. Brandon Larson
4. Ben McDonald
5. Eddy Furniss

Joey Belle would be on the list, but he was such a headcase for Skip.

Depends if we are talking about specifically an individual season, or an entire 3-4 year career.

If we are talking best season, it's Skenes.

If we are taking an entire LSU career into it, it's Dylan Crews.

You don’t even have Paul Byrd on your list?

All 5 of these are good selections

Its’s been Todd Walker for me, but I really have a hard time going against Ben McDonald.

These off season topics are very very subjective bc of the age ranges. I never saw Todd Walker or Ben McDonald play. I understand the stats don’t lie but for me it’s Crews then Bregman. Duplantis, Dean, Aaron Nola round out top 5 as far as non transfers go.

Dylan Crews. Don’t think anyone comes close to the ability and star power.

I think it’s Crews or McDonald. Skenes had the most dominant single season I think ever seen though.

Joey Belle. Talent wise. He should have been MVP of the American League, if not for his personality.

But now it’s Dylan Crews. The numbers between the two are very close, but I don’t think you guys are taking into account the level of competition. Y’all know that the SEC has only one player all time in the baseball hall of fame, right (Frank Thomas)? Used to be the very best players did not make it to college. But over the last 10-15 years that has started to change and there is much more talent on the college level than there was in 1992-1994. Dylan Crews faced professional level arms over many of the SEC weekends.

My opinion is that Crews will show at the MLB level that he’s a more talented baseball player than Todd Walker was.

while technically true, using that statement to describe talent levels is being disingenuous.

Albert Belle (Joey) isn’t in because he’s a dickhead.
Palmeiro isn’t in because of Steroids.
Bo Jackson’s injury ended what was looking like a Hall of Fame MLB career.

and there are a ton that had really good MLB careers that weren’t HOF level, but still damn good players.

DJ LeMahieu is a top 5 ever “baseball player’ from LSU.
Bregman
McDonald
Crews will be
Todd Walker

Albert Belle. Once skip is gone I hope the school tries to heal that wound.

Austin Nola
Gausman

Agreed.

But none of those guys pitched against Todd Walker. Do you have a list of all the professional level talent pitching for other SEC teams from 1992-1994? There are guys that pitched against Crews who are already not just in the minors, but in MLB.

He used to hit balls damn near to the married student housing in the 80s.
