I just don’t like Johnson’s treatment of the SECt

Pulling both Skenes and Floyd early, not PHing White for one AB… when the coach doesn’t try to win that permeates.

so the Chiefs should play Mahomes in a meaningless week 18 game when the AFC #1 seed is locked up otherwise the coach isn't trying to win and that'll hurt the team heading into the playoffs?

So do you think Van Horn wasn’t trying to win either? He pulled his pitcher before Skenes and he was pitching better than Skenes was.
Tommy White was suspended for today’s game. Not sure why but it is obvious thats what it was.

Miss state got run ruled twice and ole miss went 0-2. SEC tournament has no bearing on postseason success, as evidence, Paul winning this many times yet only winning one natty.

It’s funny when CPM was winning them people were saying he cared too much about the SEC tournament. It’s almost like you can’t make LSU fans happy no matter what you do.

I have no problem with it if Tommy has a sore shoulder or was suspended. I think he should have let Skenes finish the inning but did not mind that he pulled him or Floyd. They are getting ready to have to throw like 120 pitches next week and if we make it to Supers. I had a problem though when he put Dutton in. That pretty much sealed the deal. He should have brought Guidry in. That was the most critical part of the game.

I'd rather sell out to win in the NCAAT, not in the SECT with a top 8 seed already locked. If we didn't have the top 8 secured and were trying to play for a host, then I'd agree with you. But that wasn't the case, it's more important to try to get guys ready for next week and beyond than trying to win this tourney by all means necessary.
Especially with the bullpen troubles we had going into this, it became more important to get work in for other guys. Skenes and Floyd we already know are the top 2. What benefit does keeping them in have when other guys still have question marks? And Hurd Cooper and Ack looked good. Dutton and Herring not so much. That helps Jay more to prepare for next week when it actually matters than running Skenes and Floyd 100+ pitches

I’m don’t love it but I think We need some time off and definitely weren’t build to win a conference tourney.

Top 8 seed is literally all that matters. We have that. We will be fine. The sun will come up tomorrow and meaningful postseason baseball will be played at the box next weekend and the following weekend as well.

This is what I thought also. He didn’t even have his jersey on. When he was hurt earlier this year he always had his jersey on. Something was going on.
