With multiple discussions on where LSU may be ranked going into next season, thought it may be fun to guess some projections. Lots of changes could be made with transfer portal and draft entries but here’s my best guess. Curious to see some of y’all’s:

USC
Georgia
Michigan
Ohio State
Bama
Clemson
TCU
Oregon
Utah
LSU
North Carolina
Tennessee
Florida State
Penn State
Washington
Texas
UCLA
ND
Ole Miss
Wisconsin
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Arkansas
Texas A&M
Kansas State

Idk but Alabama and USC will be ranked ahead of LSU when they objectively should not, this I can tell you

I’ll guess LSU as 7. FSU as 10.

Last I read, they believe he will return. Obviously would drop Utah pretty far down if he leaves.

Bama won’t be as low as 5–nor should they be—and TCU won’t be as high as 7 without Dugan. And USC will be ranked higher than they should, but I don’t they’ll be #1. Their defense was exposed. Also don’t think Tennessee gets that big of a benefit of the doubt with the way they finished and without Hooker.

Reporters are stupid and lazy. #1 will be winner of this year’s natty #2 Bama #3 (loser of UGA vs OSU) #4 USC # 5 Oregon (recruiting like aTm this year) # 6 Mich #.7 TCU #8 LSU

So why should LSU be ranked ahead of Alabama? Because their recruiting has been weak over the last 15 years or is it the lack of stability involving their head coach?

Not going to mess with that list but I can say for sure both LSU and FSU will be in top 10 to start the season based on talent alone. You'll get a perennial top 10 match up as your opener which hasn't happened in awhile at LSU. Both teams will be talented. Will set the tone for both teams that season. Going to be fun to watch.

Because LSU is the reigning West champ returning about 17 starters including 11/11 on offense and Alabama is replacing many of their top playmakers including at QB.

How is Texas A&M ranked in the top 25? Their roster is much worse with transfers/graduations/declarations for NFL than this year and they were 5-7.

Well, the absolute beating they laid on us flashed the potential that they have, so I wouldn’t doubt them being in the preseason top 25.

All true, but I’d rather see them ranked because we know what happens. Their fanbase buys in, they underproduce, and then the fan base melts. Watching them melt is great entertainment!

TCU should be lower than LSU if all those players leave as expected.

Their starting heisman finalist QB is gone

Their starting RB is likely gone, the backup is a senior and the 3rd rusher is the QB Duggan who has said he's gone after the playoffs.

4 of their top 6 WRs are seniors and then leading WR with all the NFL buzz is the junior and he will be gone.

Defense could lose anywhere between 6-8 starters.

It's so hard to project now since we are still in the extra covid year phase. These covid years will be stretching at least through 2025.

Clemson could possibly have a top 5 QB next year in Klubnik. They will be pretty good.
