Since 2007 LSU has had 5 DB selected in the Top 6. All other schools have combined for five.

Peterson 5th - 2011
Claiborne 6th - 2012
Adams 6th - 2017
Stingley 3rd - 2022

That stat is both impressive and maddening. How we haven’t won more championships is head scratching to say the least.

I mean Cb may not be the most important position in the field but
2/5 won NCs
Another 1 played for one.

Because DBs don’t win titles. They help, but we’ve lacked at QB and OL. Louisiana doesn’t produce them well.

Imagine how many more LSU would have if they didn't waste so many years with Corey Raymond.

I’m not referring to only the DB’s. We have 13 top 6 picks since 2007. Next closest is 8 for the team on the greatest dynasty run in college football history.

And no elite OL and one good QB(although GOAT)

We’ve always had the talent. Les Miles was just an imbecile.

All that we've really lacked is a HC committed to winning championships.

Mathieu would have been another if not for his off-field issues.

Just gotta thank the Bear for the recognition. Tweets like this do not go unnoticed by the high school kids.

That’s what you call DBU!

Its truly an impressive list. And if it weren't for his issues off the field Mathieu would have been another.

It all starts in the trenches. No OL and DL = no team. Saban has basically said the such.

tBear needs to spit facts like this instead of making crappy spread picks on gameday

Unfortunately, none of them could run the ball up the middle against Bama.

eh, not sure about top 6 for Mathieu. People were still doubting if his small size would translate to the NFL even when he was dominating college football, not to mention his hybrid role wasn't really something NFL teams were using at the time. DBs going that high were either true lockdown outside corners or big bodied freak safeties. He would have gone in the 1st round for sure, but don't think he would have gone that high.
