27 months is a long time. I hope WVU gets out of there.

I hope Ken Starr works pro-bono for the Big East. WVU signed a contract and needs to fulfill it.

The BE deserves to die as a football conference if they are too stupid to tell WVU, Pitt and Cuse that they can leave for 2012 if they pay X million extra.

Use that money to get the CUSA/MWC teams in the league in time for 2012.

WVU doesn't have a legal leg to stand on. They JUST signed the damn thing.

The problem isn't the BE football schools from most accounts... it's that the BE is a basketball league first and foremost, with the non-football schools such as ND calling the shots on what happens with regards to the football schools.

I have no idea, but did they? It was claimed 1,000 times over, even by journalists, that A&M signed an agreement with the Big XII last year. But we did not. More examples of how bad the media has been through all of this

What does Baylor think about WVU breaking their commitment to the Big East?

(I know people get tired of these kind of sarcastic comments, but WTF? One of the greatest examples of hypocrisy I've ever seen).

We're used to it though it's the dysfunctional 12-2+1-1+1...

The Big East is basically the same conference that CUSA was ten years ago.

So why are they a still B(C)S conference?? If those schools were unworthy as WAC/MWC/CUSA members, they're unworthy now.

they won't be after next year. the bcs "deal" runs out and they are meeting to re-up things. they will have to make some changes and that is one reason for the urgency that some teams have to get in one of the big conferences. the pac 10, big 10, acc, sec and big 12 are safe. the big Q is how the rest of the football world shakes out; maybe they'll do only 5 AQ's and 3 at larges?

Just do away with AQ. Best 12 teams get a BCS bowl. Who cares if none came from the ACC? Tough shite. Get better teams. It's not the SEC's fault they would have 4 teams in the BCS some years

WVU agreed to upping the exit fee to 10M,but it doesn't take affect until Marrinato get another team to join the BE.At this time no team has been formally offered or entered the conference.
,therefore not affecting WVU and their exit.

Just wait.....it will be quoted that WVU has "signed" and "agreed" to all kinds of things.

That is the way conference realignment works.

The Big East commish had a fiduciary responsibility to at least keep the conference as strong as it was at the time the contract was signed relative to football, if not make it better. The league is hemorrhaging football schools and the Big East has no prayer of adding equal or better football programs. The Big East has failed to honor its side of the contract so WVU has no responsibility to honor its side of the contract.
