You are comparing a very good NFL starting lead back (who was the third option in that Arky offense) to just another NFL fullback.

His whole argument has been pretty weak. The Big East is a sucky football conference.

Yeah, it looks like Peyton turned out to be the best player outta all of them.

Gotta disagree here. McFadden outperformed him last year, pretty significantly so. 20 fewer yard rushing on 47 fewer carries, but 30 more yards of receiving on 14 fewer catches. In the end, he outgained Hillis by 10 yards, on 61 fewer opportunities, scored at a similar rate (3 fewer touchdowns when each scored about once in every 20 plays), on a team that won 3 more games than Hillis' Browns.

It's nice to see Peyton do well, but it's also easy to get carried away with what he did.

you're arguement about wvu getting their starting qb hurt against a shitty team means nothing when lsu played in the seccg without their starter and won.

Huge difference when Flynn wasn't the undisputed MVP of the team and had the whole offense run through him.

LSU had more depth, but 1's on 1's WVU could easily have beaten LSU and vice versa that year. Actually, SFP is right. WVU's style on both sides of the ball were LSU's kryptonite and would've given them the edge.

Comparisons by other posters to Ga Tech are laughable. Comparing a true triple option game to a spread option where the QB could throw is completely different. Same thing with Arkansas. Arkansas' QB was shite that year, and McFaddeen couldn't wasn't an option QB. LSU couldn't shut down a one dimensional arky team, yet was going to stop a more diverse offense in WVU?

Yes it does. They were supposedly better last year than they ever have been before. Your argument sucks. The big east is a joke and everybody knows it.

Hillis that day: 11 carries for 89 yards and 2 TDs PLUS 5 catches for 62 yards and 2 TDS.

He ONLY had 4 touchdowns that day and the crucial 4th and McCray catch in OT to save the game for them.

THE MYTH OF HILLIS GROWS yeah DMac only had 200+ yards rushing hillis had 89 yards, but 65 came on one (option) play

Who do you think was the lead for those plays? Oh yeah, that Hillis guy.

It wasn't an option play that Peyton scored on, either. It was a plain old FB power out of a Wild Hog look. A non-standard formation does not an option play make.

based on what?
they had 4 regular season losses in 2009, 3 in 2007. the Big east had a dominant team in 2007 (West Virginia), and had shite in 2009. so no, that statement is fully incorrect

a team is a team, from starters to backups. Ryan may not have lit the world on fire, but we won. Our backup stood in and won the seccg. Theirs didnt.....or their hurt starter. To a shitty pitt team.

Oh yeah, rivalry game.

No, it's not. Remedial football, really-- option can be run out of the T, but not all T running is option. Designed power plays like that one don't use option football, particularly in how the ends are blocked and how down-blocking and doubles are determined on the LOS.

so since white was the undisputed mvp of their team, their team was better than lsu? Who won a big game on a big stage with a backup? Gotcha.....
