WV did that with a mobile QB

1. Arkansas had McFadden and Jones.

2. LSU had a week to practice for them. They would have had a month for WVU had it been in the NCG. Do you remember what LSU did to GT's option when they had time to prepare?

Can't you accept the obvious? That the SEC presidents couldn't agree on expansion--the schools and the number of them and figured things are pretty good now so why mess things up when you don't have to?

The SEC doesn't need Aggie and some of you are too young to remember the original super-conference, the 16 member WAC which fell apart because it was too big.

12 is a good number for now and the money is still good in the SEC. All it needs now is it's own network like the Big Ten before it thinks about expanding.

we are not discussing who won the BCS title in 2007. that conversation would last about 1 post: LSU won the 2007 BCS title

I hope this pause allows the Big 12 to get off their asses and add BYU and ND. Maybe Boise.

I like the SEC as it is.

@Andy_Staples: All you who assume A&M got denied, think for a second. The SEC presidents don't drop everything and meet on a Sunday to do nothing.

@BrentZwerneman: My understanding is this is all part of the (convoluted) legal process to avoid potential lawsuits -- A&M courted SEC, not vice versa. #mysa

@Matt_HayesSN: Source on "meeting" today: Conf call/w SEC attorneys and Machen. Released legal statement to protect the league.

Notre Dame isn't joining a conference until they are forced by the NCAA.

GT's option is a traditional option, not the spread option. and GT's D sucked dick. WV had an elite D in 2007

Okay so? Then again maybe I'm looking at this wrong.

I still don't understand this but FSU will get more views from people on a national stage than missouri will.

They are just a better team. Ya you may get St Louis, but There are more FSU fans around the country than Missouri fans.

i agree with this

it's a perfect example of how markets don't fricking matter with the type of tv deal the SEC has

Uhhh yeah, the only way the SEC gets its own network is if it waits out this contract, which is like 10 years or something, or if it expands, which voids the current contract.

I don't think some of you realize this is as much about getting new TV contracts as anything. They're not just expanding for the hell of it.

so why go through the trouble of flying to Atlanta and meeting before the A&M BOR if it's just a ruse?

A simple conference call and statement would do don't you think?

I would love to see FSU in the SEC. I know I'm biased, my daughter is a SO at FSU. Florida does
not want FSU in the conference. They have been the top dog in Florida, but FSU is on their arse.
