Damn I was hoping for a full scale rebellion. I cant believe these schools wont stand up to TX. The sad thing is that TX needs them as much as they need TX.

Everyone should have realized TT didn't hold the cards to make a stand. If they didn't sign, they would have been brushed aside and a replacement found. It's not like they were an important piece of the puzzle.

Your conference is now officially lower tier and good luck getting any respect. But you have money.

The #s behind the revenue jump in the Big 12 TV are murky, Beebe won't even discuss the details.

The conference is much weaker.

Everyone in the conference hates and mistrusts everyone else.

This is an F'd up situation. I hate it. I don't think this abortion is the result of some Texas master plan. This is the result of the politicians forcing this on everyone to keep the Texas schools together and to appease Baylor.

Do you think this is the majority of UT fans' opinion right now? It's pretty spot on. I was really hoping to see some kind of delusional defense of what has gone on.

I absolutely do not think UT meant for this to be the result. Their greed and power grabbing absolutely did factor into what has happened in this cluster frick of a conference. They didn't mean for it to turn out this way, but it's still their fault to a large degree. I also blame the smaller schools for tolerating this, so don't feel like I'm singling out UT. You're whole conference and their leadership is to blame.

You people actually thought a school that almost lost its right to educate people a few years ago was going to give UTexas any sort of problems?

Did you see the numbers from today done by a company that knows what they are doing(can't remember their name)? Basically if all the money was split evenly with a new deal, it would amount to 13.5 million per team per year. That is not even close to touching the numbers that were released yesterday by them.

Seriously, stop blaming Baylor. They have down nothing but cower in the corner and pray. They have no clout. It's just silly to blame them for anything.

Texas Tech couldn't have done anything. They aren't a deal breaker. They could have been replaced by any number of schools. The only ones that were deal breakers were UT, OU, and TAMU, which is why they got bigger shares of the pie.

And yeah, UT tried a power play and screwed up miserably because they assumed that the other schools would follow their lead (instead of discussing it with equals). When TAMU and probably OU got ready to jump to the SEC, the PAC-16 was over. Then outside forces brokered a deal to salvage this mess.

But it will not be split up evenly, according to any number of rumors. Last I read, Texass, Oklahoma, and A&M will each get 20 million. The other 7 schools split the rest equally, which comes out to be about 10.7 million per school.

That's the deal...maybe

I guess my point was that they would only have 135 million per year with the realistic numbers. They were estimating much higher than that, like maybe 30-50 million more than what what it would create in reality.
