Tulane will be invited to Big 12 La Tech then gets a offer from CUSA
That would actually be bad for Tech because Tulane would get better than us.

Tech has no shot of getting into cusa with tulane still in that conference ... No shot .. I said earlier there has been more inside rumors over the weekend of tulane going to the big 12 .. If that happens then I think tech gets the invite to cusa ..

What does the big 12 see in Tulane?

Tech lost to USM by 2 points, and let houston come back from being three TD's in the fourth quarter due to coaching decisions and lost in OT to Miss ST.
If and I say If they had beaten two of the top teams in CUSA and an SEC school then would they have deserved to be in, also they are one of only 5 D1 schools starting a true freshman QB.

I don't see why CUSA would want La Tech. I could see them offer Middle Tennessee, FIU, FAU, and WKU before Tech.
ETA - and North Texas

Middle tennessee, North texas, WKU are you kidding not sure if serious or not
Guess they could go to the southland but then being the conference champ each year wouldn't be far to the current members.

sure you're not referring to ULM?
ULL, Tech, and Tulane all have potential...

I'm not kidding at all. Memphis would probably block MTSU but North Texas in Denton, with a brand new stadium, just a few miles north of Dallas, and a much better basketball program than Tech's. UNT is a much better option than La. Tech

These teams are all bottom rung. The only thing Tulane has going for them is that they are in New Orleans. Nobody from outside of Louisiana wants to travel to Lafayette. Nobody from inside or outside of Louisiana wants to travel to Ruston.
ULM and their fans/alumni are the only school listed that don't have delusions of grandeur.

What are you talking about? Ruston is the epicenter of fun! Ruston>>>>>>>New Orleans!!!!

Lafayette has thousands of visitors each year for Festival International alone. Lafayette is a better city than a lot of southern college towns. 30,000 fans per game is attractive too. ULM is not attractive to anyone.

I don't know what they have seen, but if they go to the Superdome they will see 75 very loyal, suffering Tulane fans... maybe.

It is all about media markets and north LA's is pathetic. They should go to sunbelt and be done with it. I say this as a tech fan who actually believes that the program lost its mid nineties steam because it started winning too many games.

I think tech was a program on the rise big time in the mid nineties, but it started winning to many games and had trouble scheduling. This in turn lead to a downward spiral. Decreased athletic budgets, etc...

I think Tech just hasn't been able to recruit. Big Louisiana recruits go to LSU or OOS, Texas recruits don't seem to go to Tech.
They started doing that anyone, anywhere thing like TCU and Boise but weren't able to get the recruits. Only big game I can remember them winning was against Alabama and I think that was in a Alabama down year. I'm not sure how TCU got theres but Boise is like the only college for 500 miles. Tech is recruiting against Monroe and Natchitoches for those lower end guys.
Its like Tech needs a couple of good classes to get them over the hump where they start winning conference games and a few of the LSU/Alabama/Miss type games and then maybe more recruits will give them a look.

I honestly think if the CUSA invite doesn't happen soon, Tech will crawl to the Sunbelt.
FYI not one team in the WAC has a winning record.
