Our rivalry game is a guarantee TV game for the Aggies...how many of their other games can they count on being on TV? Instead of provide, maybe I should have said ensure instead?
The Aggies will surely get more TV exposure in the SEC but moreso based on opponent prestige(LSU, Bama, UF, etc.) and not because they are such a strong national brand your avg fan wants to see IMO.
I mean do you not realize just how chicken shite that kind of reasoning sounds?
yea and its a guaranteed NATIONAL broadcast for texas too. Its usually the only college game being played that day. It puts BOTH of us out there for the entire USA to see. Its not like this is some regionally broadcast rivalry that the bulk of the nation has never been able to see and won't notice is over. Its one of the few games that everyone can get.
you sound like the current small group of damn fool Repubs and Dems that absolutely refuse to work with eachother if the end result could benefit the other side in any possible way.
"Oh crap, we will get our game on national TV but that means the Aggies will get there too! We're Texas and we're number one in the state and always get top 10, usually top 5, recruiting classes but if this game means they may pick up some occasional great recruits its just not worth it!!!"

Let me just say this: I cannot wait for TAMU to stop these arrogant assholes one more time on our way out this shitstain of a conference.

LOL! I hear ya, truly...that is just the reasoning that I think is behind NOT playing the game. Allow me to venture into the minds of the powers that be...Why give the SEC and A&M such a high profile game in our backyard? Screw em! It will harm them more than it will us WRT being on TV. Let them truly be done with dealing with the Longhorns if that is what they really want.
It is false to think that Texas is afraid to play the Aggies as in most cases I would think that we would still maintain the advantage in the matchup.
Good luck in the big, bad SEC as there may be 3 or 4 big dog teams that can consistently duke it out with Bama, UF and LSU's on a yearly basis...and I am certain that A&M is not one of them. Maybe Sherm and Co. will prove me wrong(but I doubt it). Some recruits will love that you can offer them competition in your new conference, but not to finish 6-6, 7-5, or at best 8-4 year in and year out...sorry.
Hook 'Em and get ready for an SEC style

Unless Texas really feels strongly about playing A&M every year, I really don't see any reason why they should care to continue the rivalry.
Maybe they do feel strongly, but I've always gotten the impression that Texas considers Oklahoma the rival and A&M the team with the annoying fan base.

Don't worry, their government is going to force them to play.

To suggest that UT-TAMU is not a significant rivalry for UT is horses&$t. Considering UT's mediocre conference and nonconference schedule, there is no reason why TAMU shouldn't remain on the schedule. If Florida can play an SEC schedule and still play FSU, UT can keep TAMU on it's schedule after playing the weak sisters of the Big 12-2 and Rice, UTEP and Houston.

You are as arrogant as they come, considering your team and fan base is a bunch whining vaginas! It is obvious that the tu/Big 12 mentality will never make sense to us SEC guys because you are all about taking the easy route where we want true football competition. We like knowing that the top 5 football programs come from the SEC. In the Big 12, you are content on having 2-3 overrated teams in a sub-par conference. It amazes me how chicken shite you, longhorns and tu fans are. Thank god I am an LSU fan!
Hey Longhorns...

OU is their main rival in football, but we're t.u.'s rival in all sports, and academics. It's kind of funny considering we wallop on them in every sport but football (sometimes basketball), we have way more research, and more reputable academics.

It all comes down to money. If the money is right to play the game, it will happen. If Texas is shown revenue projections for the game could mean more money can be earned by playing the game, they'll do it. If Texas can make more money some other way, the game is off.
LSU fans have no room to talk. The Tulane Series and Texas a&m series are prime examples.

UT's biggest rivalry is Oklahoma. If they don't feel very strongly about playing A&M, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

You do realize that two Aggies wrote the "bill" and it stands no chance of passing... Sounds good though and is great pub, but is essentially hot air...
If Georgia left the SEC for the ACC, would it be in the best interest for UF to keep playing them? All it does is give the ACC credit if they lost and does the SEC no good if they won. Same concept applies.

Texas letting Aggie escape to the SEC and in turn letting the SEC into their backyard was a colossal frick up.

That's not going to happen. Texas will continue to dominate Texas recruiting.

UT will always dominate recruiting in the state of Texas. Just because the ags are in the SEC now doesn't mean that everyone suddenly forgot about how weird they are and their inferiority complex with Texas.
