But seriously, wtf does Pat Forde have to do with the network other than the fact that he works for ESPN? It's like he's just kissing the boss' pissed off arse by writing this stuff.
which is why i'm rooting for NBC Sports Network to succeed.

Me too espn needs to be taken down a few notches. They really have been pushing it for the past few years.

I hope NBC/Comcast goes after Yahoo Sports.

not sure why, he slants it like I would expect a national media guy would.
Bemoans the loss of a on-field rivalry, worries about how this effects the rest of the CFB, then makes it clear that A&M's only worry is and should be A&M

I now more than ever want A&M to the SEC after this. Frick ESPN and Texas. If we could somehow get OU that would just be icing on the cake.

Imagine Chip Brown, without the attitude, make him MUCH more credible and careful, and an Aggie.
Head Honcho at TexAgs.

LMAO at ESPN for disabling comments on that column. I don't think I've seen that before on that site.

The few seniors at Texas A&M who redshirted earlier just graduated with a winning record over the Longhorns.

What do expect from the Texas fans? I mean for 300 million they have to be Texas fans.

Richard Justice is actually a longwhorn who usually likes to write inflammatory pieces to get blog hits. But, his been one of the few levelheaded media personalities in this whole deal. he said as early as last wednesday that it was inevitable that A&M left to the SEC. put most of the blame on his own school saying they created the bad blood and A&M was better off getting away from a conference where an AD controls the commissioner.

Exactly. Not a peep out of 'em till now that their $$$ going straight down the drain.
This isn't exactly true, Texas didn't have the LHN last year though so the spin machine in Bristol wasn't in on that one, with the exception of the big 12 blog at times.
But there were plenty of big 12 columnists across the remaining states happy to work as Texas's mouth piece along with their press secretary Chip Brown doing his daily briefings on whatever agenda item Austin wanted out in the press that day.
So it's not like we walked away with no negative press. It's just that people realize that most of it traces back to being typical ut bullcrap and gets purged from a rational persons brain immediately after reading.
Much like this will, unfortunately, because its something that really should be addressed about espn's "reporting".

Does he realize his school is running to a conference that is in bed financially with ESPN?
The irony of SEC fan attacking UT/ESPN while completing ignoring SEC-ESPN (which has been operating for 2 years and pimping/promoting SEC schools left and right) is one of the funnier things I've ever seen on TD.
While the SEC is "in bed" financially with ESPN the difference IMO is that Texas is basically ESPNs bitch...it needs that network deal and its $300 million 20 year deal to be able to stand alone with OU to hold what's left of that conference together...the SEC does not NEED ESPN and is in a position to dictate its own terms when it comes to tv deals with any network it wishes...

UT=B12, and would for the foreseeable future given the status quo. A&M is choosing not to accept status quo.
