When conference realignment talk heated up in the summer of 2010, Texas started the conversation with the Pac-12, meeting with the conference for four or five months, approaching OU and Texas A&M and others about heading West.

Then the Longhorns abruptly ended it, according to the OU source, announcing they weren't going to the Pac-12 before they'd even notified the league's leaders.

“They really felt burned,” the source said. “They told us in the future they don't think they're ever really going to want to do business with Texas.

“They're very angry with Texas.”

But ultimately, reforming and stabilizing the Big 12 was the goal for OU and OSU all along.

The Pac is sick of getting played by a bunch of hicks. It would be funny if they offer the opportunity to other schools and leave UT and OU and friends out in the cold when they do expand

And now here is the truth about these arrogant asses and what their plans are for sharing the lhn with the rest of the Big XII when we're gone:

LINK

"But Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds says Texas doesn't want to share the money from its Longhorn Network, a 20-year, $300 million deal with ESPN.

"That's never been in play, that's not in play," Dodds said.

Now maybe y'all fully appreciate why we left this cancer in the dust. They play by their own rules and are toxic to whatever host they are a part of.

“But frankly, we wanted the impression out there that we might go to the Pac-12 because that gave us some leverage,” the source said. “We were using that as leverage to say, ‘Hey, you want us to stay? Let's have some of these reforms.'”

This is Cold War Russia saving face...this is Cuba B.S. This is so transparent it's comical.

Man, they must feel like shite being left at the altar and now trying to get something for nothing from Texas.

Because OU is gone if the Pac 12 wanted them.

So if you have a roommate and you share a house and the roommate pays their rent on time but because they're better looking and have a better job they make more money and get more chicks...

...you are entitled to their leftover poon and some of their cash?

Because you share a house?

Gotcha.

Everyone is pissed at everyone else. Larry Scott told OU they would get an offer without Texas - whoops!

my thoughts are (which dont count for much) are: Hell, let UT have the LHN with the stipulation that there is no HS Games/Highlights and no conference games on the network...and they keep all the earnings from it...

Well, did OU and OSU say they didn't want to come, or did the PAC 12 say they didn't want to expand?

Somebody is lyin', or they are all lyin' a little.

I find that hard to believe. They met, couldn't come to an agreement and both Texas and the Pac did what they thought was in their own best interests. Nothing to be upset about unless lies were told.

I'm calling BS on that story. Boren and OU made complete fools of themselves. Now they are trying to save face. Period.

I never understood what the PAC would want Texas and OU, two schools significantly better would keep the 12 also rans of that conference out of their precious Rose Bowl 9 years out of 10.
