Just like I said last night:

Texas, and Texas Tech.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

It would be a BOLD move for the Big Ten to turn that down if that's what happened.

No way the Big10 turned down getting Texas, even with the scrubs included

Oklahoma will always be attractive

Not to the Big 10 (they already got shot down) and not to the SEC if it goes 16 teams. What does that leave them?

their problem is they have Okie St joined at the hip. At worst they'll be a big fish in a little pond with those other schools.

And get fricked on the TV money. There's only so many channels willing to pay so much money, and if its Oklahoma and the 8 special kids, they're simply not going to get much money for it.

Oklahoma is going to get royally fricked in this deal. They're not getting into the big 10 (and Notre Dame is damn sure not going to the big 12), so I see one of three possibilities:

1) Texas goes independent, eaves Oklahoma in a conference that is no better than the big east.

2) Texas goes to the Big 10- leaving Oklahoma in a conference thats no better than the big east

3) Texas Stays in the Big 12- and uses its superior bargaining position to bitch slap the other schools (including oklahoma) at will.

4) Both schools go the PAc 12, which never works out quite riht because neither school comes close to fitting in with the culture of the west coast.

Just my thoughts.

There is one other possible alternative. Oklahoma could get an invite from the ACC. It sounds ridiculous but both parties might be in dire straits after all the expansion smoke clears. FSU and Clemson is headed to the SEC. The Big 10 might make a run at Maryland and some of the more attractive candidates in the Big East (Syracuse, Pittsburgh). It would leave the ACC stuck in a desperate position and Oklahoma would be one of the few schools left remaining that would give them the boost to remain viable.

Best hope will be a trip to the Pac 10, where they really dont fit in. If SEC goes 16 without them, there wont be another chance for them.

Big 10 will not take 3 teams that dont fit in academically. The money they get from that consortium they're in drawfs football profits.

They got turned down as a package deal with 3 other hanger-onners. I don't think the Big10 would turn just them down, but I don't know.

The only Big 12 team the Big Ten wants is Texas.

But the Longhorn Network contract makes this an impossibility.

Notre Dame will be in the Big 10 if they go to 16.

They would make it work if it came down to it.

I say go straight to 20 teams with a 4 team conference playoff, and in the process re-establish the former 10 team SEC in the middle of it.

SW division: OU, OSU, TAMU, Mizzou, Arkansas
W division: LSU, Ole Miss, MUS, Alabama, Auburn
E division: Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida
Atlantic Divion: South Carolina, Clemson, FSU, VT, GT (...teams subject to change)

I think it would be awesome!

You really think the Big Ten network would allow a school to have a separate network competing against it and stilling games?

Yes. That's how bad they want Texas. I don't agree with it though.

I think they would, they don't meet academic standards.
