From the other "rumors" I heard the no votes where Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Vandy. They have 8 of the 12, aTm has no say on it.
All but Vandy (who just doesnt want to expand) says they want a team from the east.
I'd be surprised and upset if Tennessee wasn't voting with Bama at the moment.
In fact, I'd bve surprised if Bama was trying to protect the UT rivalry without UT supporting that.

I see Mizzou staying in the Big XII as the most likely scenario.
because you've been jumping at that scenario in the face of all evidence to the contrary so that there's "room" for WVU
I'd say it's more likely that we find a 16th team before Mizzou is admitted, and all three schools (yeah, including your eers) are admitted simultaneously.
wvu is not a good enough add by itself though so we'll need 16 to finish up expansion before they're admitted.

The SEC has no buyout fee
one could always be added.

quote:If and when that happens, the most likely move will be Auburn and Bama both to the east to go to divisions of 8 & 8. When that happens, you basically will have the old SEC (minus the Mississippi schools but with the addition of South Carolina) in the east vs. the SWC/Big 8 with the addition of the Miss schools and LSU in the west.
With this move it looks more like OU, OK St and Mizz to SEC for 16.

The SEC doesn't hold it's members hostage with an exit fee. If a team wants to leave they can GTFO. You'll regret it later like Georgia Tech.

not only does that sound awful, but it's not going to happen
first off, the 16 team schedule will be in 4 team pods
secondly, OU isn't coming, and we don't take OSU without OU.

different time and place brah.
the SEC would be foolish to not add one at this point.
I'm betting it will.

You are jaded by your experience in the Big XII. Since nobody is leaving might as well make the exit fee $100 million.

Same was said about A&M. They ended up having the votes and we see how that turned out.

I feel like this is more for PR purposes at this point, so that AL/TN can show they put up the good fight.

PR blitzes against A&M were prevalent throughout the whole process though.

From what location? I noticed this chatter first on ESPN. It looks like they are trying to protect themselves and push their agenda. Shoddy reporting isn't anything new for ESPN, or whoever has an invested reason for protecting the Big 12.

ESPN is really in a fricked up position, so I don't want to go there. I'm speaking specifically about AL being against MO and the implications it has for both AL/TN and AL/AU.

Everything I've seen is that AU wants to move east. I'm sure Bama don't like that, but I don't think it will be enough to stall anything. Question is, has Missouri now gone passed the line of no return? This is kinda like telling your spouse you want to take a break and open yourself up to possibilities. I can't imagine the relationship between Missouri and the Big 12 being solidified. I think its B1G, SEC, or bust.
Just like all the speculation with the A&M, the thing to pay attention to is the big moves. Missouri would have dotted their i's and crossed their t's. They likely have an informal offer and now they are going through the motions to ease out of their position in the Big 12, and make it as easy as possible.

People will be people, but after what OK tried to do and failed, they can't really fault MO for doing the same thing. The Big 12 will take MO. The problem for MO is what staying would mean to the fan base and alumni. There would be consequences, but those could be mitigated if it seemed like they were turned down.

I think it will happen, hence my PR comment. But there is some risk that the people doing the winking were wrong about emotions.

Of course Im against Mizzou to the SEC IF it means WVU gets the shaft. Especially now, that TCU is probably going to accept the BIG XII offer (why wouldnt they want to leave a sinking ship?). Im worried WVU will end up a big fish in a small pond instead of a medium fish in the big pond. I also as a fan just can not see Mizzou in the SEC.. of course.. I could never see Nebraska in the B1G either. Tradionalism is out the window and the all mighty dollar is going to ruin this once great sport.

No doubt, it has to make you feel great knowing the stability of you conference is dictated by the whim of two schools. That's what so appealing about the SEC. Most every school brings something to the equation, and there's not much "dead weight." Look at the Big 12. It's pretty much the Texas and Okie show. The other are just there to know their role and serve as stepping stones. Just look at Baylor.... I mean really it's Baylor. lol

Yeah, that's why I just take stock in the big moves. Everyone and their mother is going to give their opinion, but ultimately the only opinions that matter are those of the decision makers, and they sure as hell aren't going to let their opinions be known until after things are settled, if even then.
