Baylor is calling the shots for the SEC now. They'll tell Slive what to do.

Don't be ridiculous. This is great for the SEC.
I don't see why we need this. Money? There is already more than enough money to go around. Access to Texas recruits? Does the SEC really need help with recruiting? SEC teams regularly dominate recruiting year after year and we bring them in from all over the country. More TV viewers? More people watch SEC football than ever before.
I don't want to go out to that concrete prison-looking school in the middle of a ragweed field in central Texas for a game. Blech.

TXGunslinger, does living in H town with so many aggie fans have any influence on your decision?
I'd be lying if I said it didn't!
Just seems like the SEC is letting other conferences push us in the direction of expansion. True, adding A&M was our own doing, but none of this would have ever come about if Nebraska & Colorado didn't bolt from the Big 12.
I don't think we'd be talking about this if the Big 12 wasn't so poorly structured. It's amazing that the Big 12 didn't just try to restructure the league instead of letting it fall apart because of 1 school's greedy self-entitlement.

If the SEC does not expand, the Pac-12 is not going to suddenly go to Pac-17. That's just silly.
I say the A&M invite should happen if and when the Pac-12 or B1G expand. Not before.
We should see expansion at this point as a reactive stance. We aren't the conference needing to catch up.

No, it doesn't
It will if you add another team to the West.
Separates AU/UA and kills the AU/UGA and UA/TENN games.
This is small potatoes. The constants have been dumb for years. However, possibly changing the entire divisions is retarded.

Those worried about being "left with crappy expansion teams..."
We're already talking about adding WVU and Mizzou.
Think about that shite for a second.

That's adding just to add if you ask me, and not in the best interest of the conference.

you are not keeping up. Bama/AU go east West gets new team plus UK
if that happened we would lose bama, auburn, and florida as yearly opponents. oh but we get UK and a&m!!! frick they're not even in the conference yet and i already hate them. whoever thought this was a good idea should be punched in the mouth repeatedly.

Exactly. The Pac and Big just got to 12 LAST YEAR, I don't get why this has to snowball so fast.

Adding A&M = Adding 1 more team = Dismantling long standing division and cross division rivalries...I say NO!

No Dorothy, we can't. The ball has been dropped and the fat lady is warming up for the demise of the Big 12.

I'm calling bullshite that they would put Georgia, Florida, Tenn, Bama, and Auburn in a single division.

No matter how many times you post that, it's still just your opinion. And the opinion of one nutjob doesn't amount to much.

that would be 5 of the big 6 in one division and us left holding our dicks with the newcomers/shitty teams.

And what would happen if we told A&M No?

Which is why I don't buy it. Not to mention why would the conference move away from the divisional system that we've had so much success with?

The SEC already voted yes. So suck it up. It's happening and there's not a damn thing you can do but like it.
