I think the SEC would add the University of North Carolina
they're a 'national brand'...football is ok. basketball and baseball are super elite.
the rest of the sports very very competitive
so the question to more knowledgeable people: are they a fit culturally?
because from a fans (= TV) standpoint, I think they are a slam dunk if they defect to the SEC

they're my #1, but it's not happening - not in a million years.

No way UNC leaves Duke, or the ACC, which is now the preeminent basketball conference.

Add North Carolina and Duke.
Boom.
Boom.

moreso than Mizzou, that's for sure.
Not a rabid fanbase and a bit classy compared to the rest of us, but based on their fans and students I've come across, they're kind of a mix between Vandy and Ole Miss.

North Carolina State wouldn't be the worst addition either.

Yeah, adding UNC (and possibly another team or two from North Carolina) would be awesome. They are indeed a national brand and that would put the SEC into the state of NC which would be great for the new markets. But I really don't see this happening. The Tobacco road schools are the heart of the ACC and I think they will stick together. Who knows though.

The SEC will not get UNC, simply because UNC has that Mid Atlantic vibe going on. They want no part of the SEC.

the ultimate would be adding UNC and VT or UVA in the east and aTm and OU/UT in the west. that would create the most new viewers possible.
that of course is a total pipe dream as well.

It's not that late for a Tue is it? SEC is a football conference.

Hey, keep me out of this.
I just Notre Dame doesn't get screwed in all of this.

What market to they add? They aren't coming.

UNC and Duke would never want to be associated with the SEC. They state the schools in the SEC are beneath them. They state the only decent schools in the SEC besides Vandy is UGA & Florida. Their words not mine.

either virginia school would add a large amount of new tvs. i know they arent coming, i clearly stated it as well

Virginia Tech wouldn't add that many people. I think they've been an unrealistic choice from the get go.

VA, DC, and NC.

New York City is closer to DC than Blacksburg, Virginia.
And North Carolina isn't even the same state. If we count those markets, then why doesn't Pittsburgh count for a market if we add West Virginia?

Okay...
VT has a strong alumni base in DC.
What? Yes, I know that the STATE of NC is not in the STATE of VA.
VT also has a strong alumni base in Charlotte and the rest of NC.
Why are you battling me about WVA? I like the addition of WVA.
