and Baylor made it to that Elite 8 by beating 3 teams with double digit seeds
Also, Baylor makes bowl games? Rouge has to be a troll. Nobody is this clueless and vocal about it

Would be a great asset, but I would rather have Fla State instead.....................

This. IMHO VT would be foolish to join the SEC. As is they have pretty much dominated ACC football and have a much easier path to a BCS game. VT has had consistent 10 win seasons which would come to an end in the SEC. VT would be a middling member of the SEC by comparison. But membership in the SEC probably would help Hokie recruiting.

In some ways I think the decision to anounce that we're not expanding in existing SEC states was dumb.
VTech's biggest fear had to have been that a team like FSU jumps first leaving the ACC and them in a lurch.
Now without that fear I think they're more confident that the ACC can stick together, and won't need to rock the boat.

Some people can't get it through their head about the VT situation

VT will be staying.
is that link really supposed to provide credible evidence that VT stays in the ACC?
I hope you're joking.

That's great, but at what point does VT get tired of playing in the Orange Bowl every other year and not really sniffing any real shot at the national title. BCS bowls are great but the ACC historically only gets 1 BCS bid each while the SEC routinely has 2 BCS bowl teams. VT could actually increase its chances of winning it all while not decreasing its chances very much of still getting a BCS bowl as the 2nd SEC team.
VT might not have quite as many consistent 10 win seasons but they still firmly be an 8 to 10 win team each year in the SEC and would go to even better New Year's Day bowls if they happen to miss a BCS bowl.
I'm amazed that people think VT will instantly become a doormat in the SEC. Look at their last few games against SEC teams. Other than a bad loss at LSU in 2007, they've been extremely competitive with the very best SEC teams over the last several years.

they seem to be just fine with winning an easy ACC every year and getting curb stomped in big bowl games.
Their offense sucks in the ACC ,SEC defenses would eat them alive
