Dear Conference Expansion Board,
First, I should like to express my gratitude to the Chicken and Tigerdroppings for the opportunities they have given me over these last few months to bring reports and messages to our community. Like every other -- Like every other board, I wish the new board, and all who will labor with it, Godspeed. I pray that the coming months will be blessed with peace and prosperity for all.
Progress toward these noble goals is persistently threatened by the conflict now engulfing the entire college football world. It commands our whole attention, absorbs our very beings. We face a hostile ideology global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose, and insiduous in method. Unhappily, the danger it poses promises to be of indefinite duration.
But each proposal must be weighed in the light of a broader consideration: the need to maintain balance in and among national programs, balance between the private and the public programs, balance between the cost and hoped for advantages, balance between the clearly necessary and the comfortably desirable, balance between actions of the moment and the programs welfare of the future. Good judgment seeks balance and progress. Lack of it eventually finds imbalance and frustration. The record of many decades stands as proof that their people and their Athletic Deparments have, in the main, understood these truths and have responded to them well, in the face of threat and stress.
It is with these words that I say good bye to the Conference Expansion Board, and welcome in the Coaching Changes Board.

Good bye Conference Expansion Board. It was you (actually last year's incarnation) that introduced me to TD.

I'll be on other boards from time to time.

So where is the appropriate place to discuss Big 12 stuff (departure fees, games, etc)?

This board brought us Ags where we so desperately wanted to be--it's been a good ride!

if you aren't going to get rid of this and make it the Coaching Changes Board, can we just start posting coaching changes threads in here and pretend???
I'd really like to start the following threads, but don't know where to post them:
1. Urban Meyer to Ohio State a real possibility.
2. Nick Saban to Penn State after Miles makes him quit.
3. Les Miles considering a jump to Michigan in 2016.
4. Tommy Tuberville to return to previously coached SEC team. Actual team still undetermined.
5. Other coaches for Penn State after Saban turns them down to go pro?
6. Syracuse basketball coach reinstated after police do math and realize that a 21 year old having sex with a man is just gay sex, not rape or molestation.
7. Will LSU hire a real OC, or does Studd keep the job?
8. Tulane fails to hire big name coach, DiNardo now top candidate.
9. Will Patterson ever leave TCU and Peterson ever leave Boise St?
10. Is Chicken really the best coach that a 4th grade basketball team can get?

I'll bet something like the PAC12 and Big12 merge to form the PACBIG17 or something right after this board closes.

It will be missed. Happy trails, Conference Expansion board.

I have a feeling we'll see this board back up in about 3 years. Until then so long.

In retrospect... what the frick have we done?!
Nobody watches A&M, except A&M people and people who go to circuses to look at and make fun of the geek with an arm coming out of his head. Mizzou? 10,000 miles from fricking ANYwhere? Are you kidding me? How much fun will that drive be? I dread it and I have a head start on everyone from Baton Rouge at ONLY 10 hours away! You guys get the grinding 14 hour drive. Ugh! At least they have hot cheerleaders and at this time, I don't think they have any sheep in garters, but I'll remain wary, all the same. Still... better for us than for Florida. They have a 19 hour drive!
You have to laugh, it's just so ridiculous. Imagine... a 19 hour drive in Jorts! Ouch!
Speaking of ridiculous, A&M fits the bill. It is ugly and full of pecker heads that couldn't qualify to get into UT, so to make themselves feel better they ridicule UT and their fans and alumni. If they keep up that ridiculous UT bashing fight song as an SEC member, we should just ban them. If they have Longhorn envy and want to perpetuate a rivalry, they should have stayed the frick out of the SEC. Texas is glad to be rid of them. They've been like a bad case of herpes that keeps popping up into a festering, puss-filled boil. UT is laughing at the SEC for taking them. Now they're our problem.
Please close this board, Chicken. It is a constant reminder of the damage that's been done to a great and proud conference. We didn't need to expand. We didn't need to add circus clowns or midwesterners who, although they do make some good bar-b-que, just don't fit. We all know it. May as well resign ourselves to it. Ugh! I feel the need to take a shower with antibacterial soap everytime I get done visiting this place.
Shut this board down!!! NOW!
