Good for East Carolina, but i think its hypocritical for the Big East to be on TV crying about being poached by the ACC and how conference realignment isnt good for college sports, but yet they have had no problem poaching Louisville, Cincinnati and now East Carolina from CUSA. Conference expansion has been going on for YEARS...where was the outrage then?

I wondered the same thing while watching Mike Tranghese cry about superconferences and the greed that goes along with these formations.
How did the Big East from my younger days; G'Town, Pitt,Syracuse, St. JOHNS, Providence, and the like become the MEGA CONFERENCE that it is today? The conference bball tourney takes 6 days now. I guess it isn't greed when its basketball?

They should have added them and UCF a long time ago. Both of those schools are solid addition to the AQ ranks.

in just football or all sports? BE doesnt need any more bball teams.
all non AQ teams should use this opportunity to jump to the BE or Bevo 9. Best shot to get into a bcs game for any of them

At the end of the day, I don't see any way the Big East keeps it's AQ status.

so far the BE has lost 2 teams that dont sniff BCS births.
as long as they keep uconn and wvu they will keep it, assuming they add a couple of quality teams.
ECU will be just as competitive as SU has been in the last few years.

Cuse and Pitt are still in the Big East for another 27 months correct?

Let me clarify by saying that I don't think they deserve AQ status now, so although I agree that Cuse and Pitt are no heavyweights, they are not deserving.

Do you think they deserve it for the next two years, until Pitt and Cuse move to the ACC which will become effective in June, 2014
