OSU, Purdue, Michigan st, and even if Indiana and Michigan would get to their historical play, would be an all you can rape buffet in basketball.

West
Nebraska
Kansas
Missouri
Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Illinois
East
Purdue
Indiana
Ohio St.
Michigan St.
Michigan
Penn St.
Rutgers
UConn
Play the 7 in your division and 2 of the other division on a rotating basis. Winners meet in Indy.
East is stacked, but no way you play those rivalries once every four years.

Nobody wants Kansas. Sorry.

AAU school. Kansas City market. Better hoops than any current member of the Big-10.
I beg to differ.

Disagree. Michigan State is just as good.

Here's a pretty cool idea for the divisions:
LINK
I think I like this one this most. You have Michigan/Michigan State in the same division, as well as Ohio State/Michigan.
And then you have Nebraska/Iowa, which is no doubt going to be a rivalry. You have Penn State with Nebraska, so no one can really argue that there's no competition.
The only thing I would do is switch Wisconsin to the Blue division for Illinois/Northwestern/Minnesota.

Big Ten Black: Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana.
Big Ten Blue: Nebraska, Penn State, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Northwestern.

Nebraska/PSU in the same division will be a bitch. I like it in theory, I just don't know if it will work.

Because Notre Dame wanted in so badly when there were only 10 teams... They'll be much more likely to move when they're getting 1/16th. :rolleyes

I still think Missouri is on its way into the Big Ten sometime soon. The question becomes, who are the others.

I do too. The Big Ten isnt done expanding yet IMHO. Many people sitll think Missouri, Rutgers AND Notre Dame will all join the Big 16. My prediction is Pittsburgh will be added as well.

Goddamn!! Look at that as a basketball conference. Even with UConn's impending probation it is still stacked. I'd love to see the basketball in the conference. Top notch for sure.

In my opinion Ohio state and Michigan have to be in separate divisions....you play everyone in your division ...have a rotating team from the other division and a permanent opponent from the other....osu - Michigan is, was, and always will be the marquis big money national audience matchup in the big ten....while Michigan has been down, they won't be for long, so I can imagine that rivalry being played just as it always has...last game of the reg season...but with the chances more often then not a rematch the very next week at a nuetral site for all the big 10 marbles...

as an outsider looking in I think Maryland would be the power play that makes sense
Maryland would add market that Pitt does not - and they are apparently unhappy with the NC dominated ACC

Ohio St-Michigan is a game that should be played once a season, and once a season only.
