The suit, filed in Rhode Island Superior Court in Providence -- where the Big East has its headquarters -- charges West Virginia with breach of contract. It seeks an order requiring West Virginia to adhere to the 27-month waiting period and other Big East bylaws, in addition to damages from the school as a result of alleged "improper attempted withdrawal in violation of those bylaws."

I didn't realize that TCU had to pay $5 million to the Big East.

West Virginia University, acting as an arm of the the State of West Virginia, can only have legal actions taken against them in the State of West Virginia according to the constitution.

The Big East needs to do a little homework.

Soveriegn Immunity has limits... If a university enters a contract willingly, SI can't stop them from getting sued.

I'm no lawyer, but that is an interpreation I've heard in the many legal wranglings of schools trying to exit the Big XII.

No court is going to force WVU to stay. They will have to pay damages, but in no case in the history of this type of contract law has a court forced a person or a group to stay where they didn't want to be. They will have to pay damages, absolutely, but they won't be forced to stay.

Maybe WVU should reconsider that lawsuit.

Maybe Louisville should be the ones filling suit to leave.

Loses to Syracuse and at home to Louisville makes me smile a little at the loudmouthed WVU fans that blasted Mizzou.

If Mizzou will struggle in the SEC, WVU's program will sink and hard in the Big 12.

Not they won't. They will do better in the B12 than Mizzou will do in the SEC.

No they wont. I would gladly make any reasonable wager you like that they will not.

I don't think it will even be close.

Before I take that winning wager tell me what teams they will "sink hard" against in the B12, then tell me which teams Mizzou will beat in the SEC to make them "better."

If you go by next year's conference winning% for next season, I think it will be close,
but I would take Mizzou (SECE) over WVU (Big12)

its nice your going to the SEC but frick you are delusional.

We have a first year coach and our youngest D in years we will be fine, you will get physical beat up in the SEC

OU for sure most likely Texas and maybe OSU after they lose just about everything this year

as much as I hate VT they lost 5 games their last year in the BE and cleaned house the next year in the ACC

im not arguing that at all, i think wvu would be able to build the depth faster since they already recruit the south and some of the texas guys on mizzou's 2 deep might not be to happy about not getting the chance to make regular trips back to play in texas

So that puts them in the to 3-4 in the B-12. Now tell me how mizzou makes it into the same position in the SEC. Assuming the East is the destination and you get Arky for the cross division rival here is your schedule

KY
Vandy
UF
UGA
UT
USCe
Arky

Hell I will give you Ole Miss and MSU from the west and you will still lose the bet.
