I believe this is the tweet from @MJ4Sports (Matt Jackson with 790 AM in Houston) you are referring to:

Take it for what it's worth, A&M held a private dinner for their top boosters last night. Boosters were told Aggies, OU, Mizz, VaTech to SEC

Not breaking up va and tech

I have to admit, I don't understand this. VA was pretty much forced to support VT to make sure both schools ended up in a good situation. I would think in this instance there hearts would want to say don't like the door hit you in the arse.

I could see it from another point of view though. If the ACC thought that losing VT was going to hurt the football side too much, then I could see playing the together card. But if VT left, the ACC would probably expand maybe into Pitt, so while it would be a loss, I don't see it as a killer since it would probably mean FSU was staying.

What I don't see, even though I'm ignorant of the situation, is a scenario where VT and VA would come to the SEC. I would think the academic side of VA would go ballistic. I just can't see it.

MO and OU would just be so weird in the SEC.

So, if that happens:

SECW

LSU
Bama
AR
aTm
MO
Ole Miss
MSU
OU

SECE

UGA
VT
AU
UF
Vandy
UT
USC
UK

With Bama and AU being split, they would obviously become permanent opponents.

Keeping with the 8 game SEC schedule - 7 in division and 1 outside.

Lemme guess - LSU would keep UF as permanent?

I say we grab VT or UT... Let OU and UF beat each other silly every year.

Blacksburg would be a nice road trip every couple years.

Under that scenario, one team has to move east--Auburn?

How about Alabama and Auburn moving east, and Vanderbilt moving west? It preserves the Bama-Tenn and AU-GA rivalries, and only costs Tenn-Vandy. The SEC East would be murderously tough, but it would keep the two rivalries that forced the permanent interdivisional opponent,

I'd rather OU and there holier than thou attitude to stay away from the SEC. They seem too similar to Texas to me and would be the bully of the Big 12 if not for UT.

My 4-team preference in order would look something like aTm, FSU, VT, Okie State, Clemson

If Slive waves a piece of paper in front of Mizzou you know they are in. They pissed in their pants after the red arse they suffered from the Big 10.

OU and OSU in the SEC is ridiculous. Maybe more so then Missou.

Clemson would make a lot more sense then VaT

@Big Kat,

Funny how you, not a member, are advising us of who you think should be and shouldn't be a member. Sorta like the Hogs opposed to aggy lol.

Best would be: A&M & OU in the SECW and FSU & Clemson in the SECE.

When we go to 16 members we will become as disjointed as we were before the current divisional lineup.

Back in those days we never saw GA or FL or TN and rarely AU. I'm talking SEC of 1970-80's.

I don't want an 16 member conference. We will lose our attachment to the SECe

Ditto with Tech leaving UVA behind.
