He gets $5 mil from Tampa and $4 mil from MNF. Tampa ends after 2011 but that means he would give up millions of free money and the MNF gig he can have for life like Madden to take a job he could lose if he doesnt produce wins.

I would call giving up millions in that situation very stupid. Gruden isnt stupid. He just likes the attention.

not that it would match your like and intuition concerning Leach, but did you happen to read the Miami Herald article quoting a Miami rep. about Leach's candidacy?

Yes and I read them saying Gruden deal was in the works.

I think they start running out of good options and Leach becomes a real player. Thats just my opinion. I could be wrong. I think Leach would be the best hire they can get. Doesnt mean they will take him though.

But Gruden isnt going to Miami..

I think mullen takes the job. He'll make more than state will be willing to part with, and he will gain alot of ground in recruiting the state of FL. Great hire for the U, great job for Mullen.

if true, this is an excellent reason for him not to take the job, but Miami is not going to pay anywhere near this. Where there is smoke there's fire. Gruden had to have expressed some interest when initially approached. Regardless, my point remains that at least Gruden got an interview. Leach never will.

Gruden likes the attention. Always has.

Leach may not get it because of the Pres of Miami but he is the best choice.

There's been smoke around gruden and every college job. UM has made the least since due to them being cheap.

People close to Gruden say he will never coach colleg and has said this because he isnt a teacher and has zero patience for kids.

His mindset is "produce or get the frick off my field!".
