I dont understand why you take the chance of losing out on some GREAT D coordinators? Les needs to understand this is a business and a succesful one at that. In the business world, friend or not.... you dont put the company in a position to be successful... youre fired. its all great that hes a good guy but come on now, hes hurting himself. Its great to be a loyal person but not when it turns the fans against you and could eventually lose yourself a job. A head coach is only as good as his staff and its quite evident our Defensive staff isnt cutting it. i want the man to quiet all his critics but hes not helping himself. frick their bonuses... do whats right for the school, recruits and players... have a nice day

from the outside it looks like this is being handled about as bad as humanly possible
lets just all hope thats actually not the case

from the outside it looks like he's taking his time to talk to multiple candidates to make sure he gets one he's comfortable with. of course to people who like to freak out, the 'bad as humanly possible' angle may work.

Many people on here seem to think that Miles should have stopped coaching mid-season and spent all his time interviewing DC candidates

I agree, from the end of the season to the bowl games is the right time to make adjustments in the coaching staff, but it looks like he is going to wait until after the bowl game, when most of the quality coaches are already gone.
IMO miles is digging is own grave at LSU.

It's THREE frickING WEEKS until the bowl game.

is this the pattern we want to see out of miles?
miles definitely wants to control aspects of the situation with each candidate that has made 2 turn their backs on the job
being thorough is one thing. being too thorough (when there is a deadline of sorts) can get you in trouble

I missed something. Besides VK, who is the second?
or is this in regards to Tenuta and last year?
Les could be setting this all up into the "you know guys, I tried to interview all the viable candidates, but in the end, Malleveto is our best option, all the other candidates...the timing didnt work out, or they just wanted to go elsewhere....."

Miles is to blame for the mass hysteria. Had he told fans all changes would be made after the bowl game, most people probably aren't on edge at the moment. Not that it makes a lick of difference either way I'm just saying how things look.
I still have faith he's going to make a great hire

when is alleva or the big time booster going to step in and show miles who is boss?
Posted on 12/8/08 at 10:51 pm to True Grit
I just think on the Koenning issue sonny was just misinformed or Kstate swung in with a big time offer
Posted on 12/8/08 at 10:53 pm to BilJ
yeah.. he struck out somewhere on that
Posted on 12/8/08 at 10:53 pm to BilJ

Chavis hasn't taken the job at Clemson, he just interviewed...
If it was a sure thing, they wouldn't be talking to Rhodes.

I assume you're another Saban cock-gobbler. At what point did he fire Major Applewhite and hire another OC after a miserable offensive season? Did he rush to do it before the Independence Bowl to appease the Gumps? I honestly can't remember the dates.
