Not in Alabama, we have more mexicans than we do anything else. That is why he didn't take the Alabama job, he wanted the University to buy an apartment complex for his relatives. We can only do so much!!

Minorities I would interview:

Rich Rodriguez
Norm Chow (asian)
John Tenuta (sounds Asian)
Barry Alvarez (Nebraska alum, he actually denied interest, that should count as something for them)
John Chavis (Tennessee DC, obvious Mexican)
Willie Martinez (Georgia DC, see above)

Of course, we all know there is only one type of "minority" in this country. Only one that counts, anyway.

last night ESPN listed FIU's Mario Cristobal as the only Latino coach, i'm guessing Rodriguez is peninsular Spanish as opposed to Latin American?

Cristobal: Latino
Rodriguez, Alvarez, etc: Not

This is where "minority hiring" gets into a slippery slope and a very gray area. How do you define these things?

Chavis is uh...does not have obvious Mexican heritage.

It's American Indian.

Chavis, an Indian?

Even better. The original minorities.

Why? Simply because he has a Spanish surname?

...or maybe that his family has been in this country for several hundred years. Spanish surnames do not automatically make someone Hispanic. Ever hear of Leander Perez?

When I see Chavis, I am reminded of SuperMario or a pizza delivery guy. He doesn't look like a defensive coordinator to me.

So blacks whose families have been in the country for hundreds of years are minorities?

Cristobal is a minority because he is a recent immigrant?

I don't follow.
