$15 million could buy Smart, I suppose, but LSU would never do that.
Kirby also has a buyout in the $14-15 million range.
That's a lot of money for someone who hasn't won a national championship.
If LSU offered Kirby $10-12 million, UGA would probably find a way to match it.

You never know, my gut feeling is, Kirby would pass up some money for what he has now. He knows he’s close to being where he wants to be as a program ( championship ) and I don’t think he’d be willing to leave and try to build that somewhere else.

I’m not sure even 15 million at LSU would buy Kirby over 10-12 at UGA. He graduated there and has his program built. Their roster is absolutely stacked, everyone there is in lockstep and it’s set up for him to continue to succeed. We’d have a better chance of landing saban. Also anyone that wouldn’t take Kirby needs to get their head checked He hasn’t won a natty but the team has a 10 win floor that they will rarely even hit, and he may very well get his natty this year.

True this would never happen. But anyone who says they wouldn’t want him is insane. He’s definitely who I want. Guy can flat coach & recruit. And he’s only 45. In my mind he’s the closest coach to Saban. He will consistently win 10+ games a year. Defense will be nasty for the next 10 years. And he will eventually kick the door down and win a couple nattys.
