I really like Brad Davis and think that Sam Pittman hiring him as his OL coach at Arkansas was very telling about how the coaching world views Davis.

If he doesn't have a spot on Kelly's staff here, I'd love to see him land somewhere bigtime or maybe even take a HC role somewhere smaller. I hear ULL might need a guy ...

I agree 100%. But ND had a much stronger OL pedigree on the big scale. If BK wants to bring his own guy and he comes, who are we to say otherwise?

Brad needs to be retained. Quinn can do something else on staff.

Harry Hiestand was the OL coach for the nfl guys
Yep. Hope he's our guy otherwise I'm good with Davis.

Feel like that spot is one and of the same, you only have so many coaches you can have. Most wouldn’t carry both with that expertise

Am I the only one confused by this upvoted logic? You can’t have an OL coach be the RB coach just because. As much as a I like the guy.

Well Harry Hiestand is not currently coaching anywhere. At 63 he could be retired.

Did he retire or was he forced out? Seems young to bounce as a position coach especially if you’re that good

Apparently Quinn isn’t all that? ND poster said Harry Hiestand was the OL coach for the nfl guys
Yep. Hiestand is the real Oz, not Quinn.

Now that guy I want.

Yeah he’s never won the big one, but you think we’re bringing him here to tell him who to keep around?

We didn’t do that with Les or O. They made mistakes and lived with the consequences.

So you’re saying we should do that now? I’d like to think Kelly has much more of a pedigree

Why doesn’t this guy coach anymore?

He is kinda old and he was fired from the Bears. He still lives in South Bend and sort of seems like he was waiting for Kelly to re-hire him.

He's sort of like the OL version of Pete Jenkins too. Even though he has a great recruiting record, he's not a fan. Which it is assumed why he left for the NFL.

In short, it appears he hasn't sought a job and was just chilling waiting on ND. There was some clammoring for Kelly to do just that and move Quinn to TEs.

If Kelly wants Quinn I’m ok with it. BK is usually pretty damn solid at getting good coaches as well as coordinators. Look at his track record just at ND. His only real miss was Van Gorder and he fired him with the quickness

Even if you’re a staunch anti BK LSU fan, you have to admit he’s been able to acquire talented coaches.
