Does he jump immediately back to the power leagues?

I wish Tulane would reach out

He'll be able to get a bigger job than Tulane, but that would be great if Tulane grabbed him.

He’ll be the next coach at Clemson. Maybe not this offseason but next.

My first thought is Stackhouse is likely out at Vandy
That job will be open and Wade is from Nashville area
Would be a perfect fit

Another one to potentially open would be Louisville, another great fit

Oklahoma St is struggling as well, I could see that hire as well

Vandy would be stupid not to hire him. They’ll be firing Stack soon and WW is from Nashville

Vanderbilt will turn their nose up at Wade because of his reputation, whether fair or not. I guarantee it.

I could see Vandy not wanting the baggage but in today's NIL world Self made out like a bandit and Pitino is employed

I don't think OSU or Louisville would care

Imagine the angst on this board if Bob Marlin retired and UL Lafayette hired Wade.

Definitely. Especially with who their AD is. No way she’d hire Wade.

I also don’t think he’d go to a place like Vandy. He knows he wouldn’t have the resources to do what he needs to do to get players.

Why would Wade want to take a step backwards from McNeese?

Vandy would probably consider themselves about WW

I can see him at Louisville or Clemson

Seems like a lateral move. Why would he do that?

I think he wants to immediately jump back into a major conf. But I also think he will be selective and look for the right opportunity. I know he is from Nashville (and maybe home is a big pull for his family) but I don't think he looks at the Vandy job as the right opportunity. Wade knows NIL is paramount and I believe there are questions that Vandy is willing to fully invest in that game.

Louisville is going to be the top job. I think Wade will want to be in the running, but I would bet they have their sights set higher than Wade (namely, Chris Beard). Clemson would obviously have some intrigue for him. Oklahoma St. may be a dark horse because they have some tradition and some money. The Big 12 is going to be an afterthought in football moving forward, but it should still be a really good basketball conference with the likes of Kansas, Houston, Baylor, Arizona, etc,

Given the jobs likely to become available, I think Clemson and OSU will be the most realistic

Of course, he is under a show cause until June 2025 and any school that hires him will get extra NCAA oversight. That might scare a few schools, especially those with major football programs, away.

While I doubt it would be his next move, we all know that isn't a lateral move, even if it isn't a steep enough incline to draw him away. Something bigger will come up, undoubtedly, just a question of whether it will be next year or in 2 or 3 more.

Can someone explain how this is accurate if he’s coaching right now?
