as DC please explain why? I'm not being snarky, I just don't know anything about him apart from his current job. What about his career makes you all think he'd do well at LSU?

Same question for those of you more interested in other parties. Apart from Muschamp, I don't know many of the names.

tenuta's been known as the best in the country.

kirk knows what he's talking about when he said that "Miles and Tenuta would have been a lethal combination." well, i dunno about the miles part, but Tenuta would be a great get for whoever gets him.

Blitzes from everywhere. Considered by some as the best dc in the nation. GT leads the nation in sacks and always has a top 15 defense year in and year out. But, thats with GT talent which just doesn't match up to LSU's. Imagine what he could do at LSU.

Georgia Tech leads the nation in sacks. He blitzes, lots of disguises, he's aggressive all over the field. GT has been in the top 10 or 15 defenses every year since he's been there.

What kind of scheme does he run? What is he known for?

Thanks for answering, by the way.

If I'm not mistaken he ran a 3-4 when he first got to GT, now runs a 4-3. He's doesn't blitz as much from the DBs as Saban...a lot more with his LBs though.

Thank you all for the answers!

I gotta say, I love this board.

What about any of the other names? Got any info on why they would/wouldn't be a good fit for the Tigers?

His aggression with our athletes would be sick. We might give up a couple of big plays, but our defense would average a touchdown a game with all of the turnovers that they'd cause.

At LSU he would probably blitz from the secondary also. He just doesn't have the athletes at GT to recover that we do at LSU. Also, Saban used a lot of LB blitzes

True.

And yeah Saban did, but he loved using safeties and DBs...easy to do when you have Laron and JD though and Hunt calling the shots.

Not the same from what I've seen with Tenuta, probably for the reasons you just mentioned

4-3, brings 5 on damn near every play. I've seen a lot of bump-and-run man coverage in the secondary. Not sure whether he's a 1 or 2 gap guy.

So you mean he tries to affect both the QB and the routes of the WRs? What a novel concept!

I never didn't. I just didn't know anything about him and wondered why his name kept coming up. If he's as aggressive as you all say he is, I think he'd be a fine fit here.

Aside from what I've read in the last 2 hours, I'm blind too. But I can say that from everything I'm reading, he's my #1 by a lot.

Aggressive, detail oriented, complex schemes, good teacher, players love him, DB focused as a position coach...
