how often do we see a big name coach sign with a team or program and it doesn't seem to work. fwiw more often than not it seems the situations that work are when an up and coming assistant is found and hired.

Pete has coached in the NFL at the Jets and Patriots...he has a 33-31 record...over 4 years...1 with the jets and 3 with the Patriots...

has anyone ever succeeded there?

Hardly anyone succeeds in Seattle. Carroll to Seattle kind of reminds me of the Dennis Erickson hire although I think Pete Carroll is a better NFL coach than Erickson.
Seattle has an ageing QB, no real running back and TJ Whousyamama is there only real WR threat IMO. The defense is ok, but not great. The only good news is that they play SF and St. Louis twice a year, although SF isn't too bad of a team anymore.

No he won't. I think he'll see how screwed up the team is in regards to the front office and personnel.
PLUS - he has to look at those God awful uniforms.

He will struggle at around .500

He's done very well with the Pro team here in Los Angeles. The players aren't paid as much in Seattle.

isn't the NFL more of a coordinator driven league?
i realize the HC answers at the end of the day, but i'd be curous who he fills out his entire coaching staff with.

no he won't. They are located in south alaska. when has any one ever succeeded in Seattle in any sport. he may have a couple good years but he will ultimately fail.

Take the San Diego approach and draft well. I think teams so often fall short when it comes to identifying talent coming in to the league.

I think that depends on your definition. Is .500 winning % sucessful? I think by the time he leaves the Seahawks, that is what you will be looking at.
