Will NCST target Bill Cowher?

When Bill Cowher retired from the Pittsburgh Steelers, he did so in order to be closer to his family in North Carolina. It was pretty understood that he would be returning to football, college or professional, after a brief stint as a television analysist. Needless to say, his run as a television analysist has lasted longer than most thought.
With the NCST job opening up and being right in Cowher's back yard, will they target him to return to coaching? You know he's itching to get back on the sidelines.
Would he consider college football, or is he waiting for the right NFL job (Dallas)? Would NCST, even though geographically a perfect fit, be a big enough job for Cowher to leave CBS?

James Frankin will be #1 target.

Lane Kiffin. Monte used to coach there

I doubt Kiffin gets canned at SC.

I remember he gave it serious consideration last time they were looking.

Or at least so NC State fans believe.
I would have been surprised then and would be surprised now. But with a big enough check, who knows for sure?

yeah, if Belichik doesn't put his name in the hat.

It's a stretch, but while everyone on the outside think it's laughable, it's not out of the question.
Most people don't realize that he is an NCSU alum, he lives in Raleigh (that's more than just close to NC State), I believe he has a daughter in school at NCSU, and his wife played basketball at NCSU. I still don't think Cowher wants to coach at the collegiate level, but its not as ridiculous as most think.
AD Yow also stated that James Franklin is not in the running for the job.

His wife died a while ago. I believe he will take an NFL job within the next 5 years.

Maybe but people have been saying that since he retired 6 years ago.

I think he has his eye on maybe two or three jobs and would rather work for CBS than go somewhere he really doesn't want to be 100%.

Charlotte Observer list today. I think that it is not that great of a list. I truly believe they should go young guy route.
