Will those two be the top 2 candidates for that job?

If it's even up for debate on who they should hire between the two then it shows how much of a joke Les was as a coach. The two resumes don't even compare.

If les takes it he'll retire there. If kiffen takes it he'll be gone within 2 years.

I think it will be Kiffin vs Applewhite vs Orlando. And I think Kiffin is the favorite.

So Miles wouldn't even be in consideration over those 3?

one is an up and comer to some degree and the other is a has been. One has an offense if executed causes the D to cringe. The other is 3 yards and a cloud of dust. UH has always had offensive minded coaches in recent memory. You make the call.

U of H has an ultra leftwing President female from India who would not even consider Briles. I would think she would go much more for Leslie than Kiffin who has a horrible reputation as HC.

Not from what I've heard. Too much of a culture shock from Herman. I suppose it's possible.

Just because you want Kiffin as OC does not make him wrong. It would also be helpful if you took a few words to explain why you believe that he's wrong.

You post like a little kid would.

I think Houston is tired of being a stepping stone. I think Miles is exactly what they are looking for if he can convince them he will change

I want Kiffin as much as anyone. He would be my first choice for OC. But I think Saban is going to push hard for Kiffin and that is a factor. Let's see what happens.

Not wanting the next Joe Paterno has nothing to do with your political leanings.

They are stupid if that's their feeling. I'd rather become the ultimate stepping stone school, rather than fall back into irellavance. They should embrace what they are.

I bet Kiffin would actually stay there for a little bit. He was turned down for the Maryland job last year. I don't think he has the prospects he once had.

I think if he can get this job, he'll be there for a decent amount of time. I also believe Houston will protect itself with a good buyout, as they've stated.

I think that it will be Kiffin for a few reasons. Houston's player talent balance leans heavily toward offense. They're going to want a coach who best harnesses those talents. That's Kiffin, not Miles.

Also, they can get Kiffin much cheaper than Miles.

Applewhite shouldn't even be in the conversation.

I would put my money on Orlando or Riley, the OC from Oklahoma - NOT LES (no offense) and not Lane (Would not stay - wants a power 5)

Orlando
I can see him getting the job because maybe they want to go with a continuity hire. But I believe Orlando would be a bigger flight risk than Kiffin because he's young and has no baggage. Schools will be all over him if he does well there.

Houston's AD doesn't want the job to be a stepping-stone anymore.

I think Les would stay there until he retired. I think LK has higher ambitions.

That said, Les is Les. I love him but I don't buy his "new offense" act at all.
