Will Callaway even be seriously considered for the OC job?

Or will O be scared off by his lack of experience and go for someone older with more years on the job? If he doesn’t get the OC job are we even able to keep him on staff? If he hires a more proven coach then the PGC job that has had a lot of influence under E might be gone altogether or at least not have much say in the offense so being given that title may not appeal to him. I personally think he’s ready and can handle the job and by all accounts he’s well liked by staff and players and has a good work ethic. We could save money too by giving him the job since we wouldn’t have to pay him $2 million or more like we did Pelini. If O goes for another coordinator I bet Callaway leaves but I would try to stop it by using Busch’s vacated coaching spot and naming him QB coach with a raise and let Raymond handle all the DBs again.

Vol said he interviewed for the position.
I’d say that that means he’s being considered

It’s going to be 2 meh hires. You can just about take that to the bank. I wouldn’t be surprised if one or maybe even both positions are filled by 2 used up nfl guys

I'm just glad Gruden finally has a coaching gig.

I have to agree with you

The logical move would be to promote him to PGC. Let him cut his teeth a little before heading directly to an OC position here at LSU

Cool, who coaches the LBs if the DC has a specialty in something else?

What’s Jack Del Rio up to these days? Doesn’t he have a daughter that goes to LSU?

He’s the DC for the WTF.

What if the OC is Willy Korn ? Would he be acceptable?

I’m pretty sure Chadwell calls the plays for Coastal Carolina not Korn but I could be wrong.

This article suggests CEO likes him a lot & talks about how he is Ensminger's right hand man, seems to think he is very capable & proven himself. Of course I know that doesn't mean shite-diddly-doo when it comes to CEO hiring an OC or at least a PGC.
“He is tremendous,” Orgeron said. “I think Russ is going to be a great coach in college football. He already proved himself at Samford and had one of the best offenses in the country.”
“He is Ensminger’s right-hand man. He does a lot of work for us and has a lot of energy. I think he is a great young coach.”
Orgeron mentioned how closely Callaway is already working with Ensminger and the rapport he has built with the offensive staff in such a short time.
