It's really hard to defend firing a coach after one season, especially given their lack of talent at QB and WR.

No that’s why he was fired.
They had Larry Fitzgerald then
AZ spent their 1st round pick on a QB(top 10) and their 2nd round pick on a WR. Neither developed and their offense was worse than when David Johnson was out for the year.
