Why wouldn't Pelini go to Miami?

I'd leave in a heartbeat, Nebraska at least had an easy division in the Big12 north outside Mizzou, they're going to be middle of the pack Big 10.

NE has MAJOR fan support and unlike Miami, is not full of crackheads and drugs.

Why would any coach leave Nebraska to go to Miami? Other than being able to recruit in Florida.

Exactly. Plus you are in an easier conference now. Neb will never be what it was in the 90s.

And it has not translated into championships (outside of divisional championships) for almost 10 years now.
ETA: Pelini could be a good fit for controlling the crackheads.

That's skipping something pretty important.

You talk like there are no drugs and crackheads in Lincoln....you also talk like the coach of Miami will live across the street from a crackhouse.....have you been to either of these places....I have been to both and if money is no object, I would rather live in Miami......

i think pelini to miami makes alot of sense. easier to recruit. personality that work well with uber talented kids. nebrask being butthurt at him and everything would have me looking. easier conference. the one thing is money. and how much money you can make if you win big there.

There's probably more meth labs per square mile in Neb. than people.

You really think that the Big Ten is that much tougher than the ACC? Nebraska can recruit nationally especially now that they are in the Big Ten, they don't need Fla. I would say having to play Fla St, VT, Georgia Tech, UNC, and USF is harder than anything Nebraska will have to play in the Big Ten.

Really? I wouldn't be scared of any of those teams unless FSU starts to get their shite together, but you should always be able to match them in recruiting at Miami.

Fla St is on the up, VT is a top 15 team every year occasionally a top 5-10 team, UNC would have been very strong this year had they not had to suspend half of their def.
You all do realize Miami has some of the worst facilities in D-1, a fickle at best fan base, small budget, right? The recruiting in Florida is an advantage but not that big of one when you consider you are competing against... Fla, Fla St., USF, UCF, Ala, Aub, UGA, LSU, USCe, Miss St, ole piss etc.

Didn't stop them from putting together basically an NFL team for 3 years (2000-02).

Nebraska will still be a top team in the Big11. They will be right there with tOSU, PSU and Wisconsin.
More importantly, Nebraska is about to cash in and roll around in all those Big11 dollars. That means better pay, better facilities, more support and good recruits.
