Moving back to big 10... NO brainer.. He has set up a great base in Lincoln also, maybe he wants to continue in Neb...

That was prior to the big time money now being spent in college football. The BCS was just getting started. The SEC wasn't nearly the conference it is now and the majority of the SEC recruits heavily in Florida. Like another poster said Nebraska is about to be raking in HUGE sums of money in the big ten and will be right up there with OSU, Wisc, Michigan, Penn St, Iowa etc. Probably better than most. A major factor in LSU turning its program around was Saban's ability to get new facilities built. Miami doesn't have that luxury.
I'm not saying Miami is a bad job by any means but Nebraska is a much better one.

Miami has terrible turnouts and they are a bunch of bandwagon fans.

We'll just have to agree to disagree then, Randy Shannon, a terrible coach still brought in tons of talent. Nebraska OTOH has to go try and compete on other programs home turf for recruits. The only problem is i'm not sure if Pelini's style would really fly with your typical U recruit

Miami's heyday was about 10 yrs ago. They cant compete with facilities, fan base and funding. Also, I'd hate to recruit against UF and FSU. Plus, you'd have to live in that hell hole...and speak Spanish to function...

Any fricking moron can bring in talent in Miami but the point is can you bring elite talent and build it up. Miami doesn't have the training facilities of any SEC or Fla public school. They don't have the fan support either. Its not nearly the job you make it out to be. Just because a great coach/recruiter named jimmy johnson built a powerhouse who was followed by Erickson and Butch Davis doesn't mean they will be a powerhouse forever. Miami was nothing before the 80's and haven't been anything since the early 2000's. They had a good 20 year run. That's comparable to what Boise State is doing now or Utah. Eventually the money catches up. Kids see schools committed to winning and decide they want to go there instead.

Miami has no fanbase. I doubt that program will ever get back to where it once was.

Maybe he doesn't like hot weather. Maybe he likes Lincoln. Maybe he doesn't want to move. Maybe he is waiting on another job to open up. Lots of reasons for not wanting to go to Miami. If Miami had the facilities and money and reputation for great fan support, then maybe alot of more coaches would want to coach there.
